Thanks for the Chips Away rec.

What exactly have you done to your wheel? Is it just gashed or is there a chunk out of it?
I had thought that they could be welded if chunks were missing. Why don't you phone Jasmine and see what they have to say. I think there was an article in a recent 911&PW about their wheel refurbishment business, so they might be worth talking to.

Bad luck with the wheel: I did my nearside rear ages ago and was thinking of getting Chips Away to have a look at it after reading the recent article in this months 911PW. Anyone used them in the Glasgow area (am reluctant to use them without a rec.)

Paul,
I used a guy in Possilpark (yes THAT Possilpark), called EPS. I hit a sticky-out man-hole cover avoiding an HGV learner on the LowMoss Road. Cost me £35 to repair the wheel and another £35 to re-powdercoat it. Guy did a fantastic job!! I can give you the details if you want to try him out.

I have 18" Sport Designs. Someone said that they can't be repaired. Is this true?

I have the same..... Minor kerfing was repaired by a guy at a BMW dealership (where my daughter works). Brill job, paint match was done by eye and all for a backhander......

Daughters are useful sometimes.....

By damage I assume you have bypassed the kerfing bit and gone straight for the serious lumps out stuff.... if so suggest you talk to Micheldever Tyres if you are anywhere near that area.

Thanks guys - just back.

I remeber the dealer who tried to persuade me to take the Carrere wheel said SportDesigns could not be fixed.

I am going to buy a wheel, then try to refurb the damged one and sell.

Ebay?
