Enjoying my 996tt x50 but have a couple of questions for those in the know .
Firstly , what is the amount of oil required between the top and bottom limits on the oil measurement "gauge" ?
My spoiler has a fault . It wasn't coming back down as it should . Then it started working correctly . Then I decided to put it up manually as I drove past some shop windows to see what it looked like ( I know ) ..... now it goes up correctly but doesn't go down again...... any "reset" option?
Finally the Bose sound is a bit dissappointing .Anyone upgraded ( with the sat nav retained )?

Anyone out there ?
Yes, but not in this area, 996Turbo is looked after within the 996 register and forum areas, you're much more likely to get a response when asking in that area

Thanks for your redirection - apologise for thinking my 996tt was a 911 turbo ...... notice Turbo_Tania wasn't redirected to the 997 forum lol .....[8|]!!

Thanks to Turbo Newbie ref the oil - the fold out Turbo addendum to the owner' s manual I got with the car was basic to say the least .

Calling a 911 Turbo a tt is a pistonheads vernacular which has been discussed in many Porsche magazines. The last being "Total 911" and they made no bones about it, as a bad habit which should be discouraged, seeing it creep into a Porsche forum is disappointing. [;)]

ps: perhaps its the texting generation

As pointed out it is a 911 Turbo, it was decided however that the 993 onwards was more in similar with its counterpart base car than the 930Turbo- which this area of the forum now represents - as does the register itself.
In some ways this area of the forum is mis-named and you can sometimes find a slow response to your questions, so I was only offering advice for you to get more/quicker answers.
As you can see though, eventually the owners do spot the thread and you get your replies.

I never found a problem with the Bose at all in my 996Turbo, although if you have a cabriolet you lose the bass box around the rear parcel shelf.

Enjoy looking in your shop windows though....[;)]

My 996 TURBO isn't a cabriOlet ( I don't look in shop windows that often [8|] ) so I do have the rear bass box , it's just that the sound quality isn't a patch on my E60 m5 with prologic 7 so I wondered if anyone has upgraded ?

Maybe it would be beneficial to re-name the forum 930 turbo?

Oh, and howsabout re-naming the 993 forum 993 inc turbo (or 993 inc tt.....)??

On a more positive note. Watch your oil level, the turbo likes to drink oil.
Boss Sound system is rather tinny IMO, but does work well when cranked up!

A tt is an Audi and as such is not a f*cking Porsche []

Hear this, I own a 993 TT.

I know what it is, and so do 99.9% of people on this forum.

So whats the big deal?[&:]

Too many people who are up their own @rse.

The forum is named the 911 Turbo forum so you'd expect it to cover 911 (930), 911 (964), 911 (993), 911 (996), 911 (997) variants.

Everyone knows that the 996 Turbo rightly or wrongly gets called the 996tt.....some people need to live with it and get on with life.

Looking forward to posting some pctures when i get my 996tt [;)]
