A button to lift the front suspension to help get over oversized speedbumps / awkward driveways

Those clever Italian chaps do it on their cars, so why can't Zee Germans do it ????
Wot u need is 2 wooden ramps that u can carry between the rails of ur roll cage and put down when needed! :rolleyes:

Clive

If I were to pick a small number of mods it would be:

1) Better PCM inc full post code, maybe touch screen for easier imput and 100% for heads up display.

2) Key, more compact key that doesn't rip your pockets and also the boot lid open button less sensitive as there has been several times when I have returned to the car to find my pocket had opened the lid therefore all doors unlocked too.

3) IPOD integration or simple aux input as standard for gods sake.

A slightly smaller range would help on the boot/lid opening issue. I too have this problem frequently - I can unlock my car / boot from sitting at my desk at work and its a fair old distance to my car in the car park.

I tested it last week to see just how far away the remote works and was shocked to see just how good (or bad depending on how you look at it) the range is. Does seem pointless being able to unlock your car from 30yrds away.

i-Pod connection & digital radio

bigger sunvisors; the current ones are useless

touch screen for PCM with sensible drop down menus. Adopting touch screen should enable a larger display size, because the buttons on either side of the display can be eliminated. Also, navigating through menus and entering information would be a doddle - much quicker than scrolling back and forth with the frustrating little wheel. Also useful with touch screen would be a feature that allows you to drag the map around with your finger, kind of like you can with your cursor on google maps. Often I like to see part of the map that is just beyond what is currently being displayed and there is no simple way of doing this unless you zoom out, but then you lose all the detail. Please whatever they do, do not go down the i-Drive route that BMW and MB have taken.

a feature on the radio that would automatically reduce the sound volume when white noise is detected. For example, if you are listening to the radio and then drive into a tunnel or other area with no reception, it would be nice if the radio automatically lowered the volume instead of playing the no reception hissing sound at high volume.

20% larger fuel tank

smaller exterior dimensions, maybe something inbetween the old aircooled size and the current size

more power less weight [:D]

smoother gear change on manual cars

the key looks and feels very cheap - so much for sense of occasion..

don't eliminate the sport suspension + LSD option

X51 power kit as standard

Better looking / more exciting exteriors. The designs are starting to look a little bit bland. The current 997 is fine at the moment, but the current cayman/boxster range and the facelift 997 (from what I have seen spy shots) all look horribly bland from the front. Even the Turbo looks a bit unresolved from this angle.

Apart from that, keep up the excellent work (eg performance, reliability, handling, driveability, brakes, low end grunt, reasonable fuel consumption & emissions, safety, comfort, etc)

Alex - great idea - woud love to see some feedback from Wayne on this.

Some repeats of previous posts but hopefully adds weight to certain suggestions/views.

Driving requirements:
  • BIG disappointment that PDK has still not materialised;
  • Steering wheel options are compromised, multi-function wheel too big;
  • Ability to raise front end up via button, epecially on Turbo, GT models
  • More bhp
  • Follow headlights, i.e. that point round bends
  • Auto headlights
  • Head up display
  • SatNav - ability to update discs
  • Ceramic brakes as standard

Short term snags:
  • rain drip from roof/windscreen into cockpit via door windows if open;
  • windows smear when up/down;
  • need "lights on" light (can be configured in PCM but you don't know for sure if they are then on)
  • rain sensor needs more ability to fine tune
  • turning volume down on CD does not mute and CD continues to play - should pause CD in my view (as on 996)

Other
  • Ability to adjust Headlights for LHD without having to remove units
  • Would like more configurability of options via PCM - current Sport Chrono options are limited, e.g. can not configure auto-lock time;
  • re-think boot space on Turbo, e.g. move dvd unit under seat or such-like
  • Voltmeter, even if via computer
  • iPod integration but not at compromise of boot space
  • Clock on dashboard optional - provide retrofit cover also

General
  • Improved quality control at factory, i.e. still not perfect;
  • rear access like in Cayman/Targa
FYI - I was told that Porsche ruled out things like a start button as they added weight!

J.
