6. Buy a Mini if you want Swiss watch reliability. Good fun, but not a Porsche.

So thats why Mini needed up in the bottom 20 of the JD power survey and got panned for reliability[;)]

Good points Derek, cars do go wrong - even well made ones.

But even great manufactures do get periodic problems and have systemic issues with certain models. it doesn't mean they are bad manufactures its just performance cars are difficult beasts to get perfect every time.

Given the number and nature of issues with earlier 997's it does make one ask the question oft here was a systemic issue. There was a significant series of mechanical revisions for the engine for 07MY that were not widely advertised. If this MY on wards prove to be more reliable I think we might have a possible answer.
