997 Concour Cancelled

Closing date for entries is the 14th August, so only a couple of weeks to decide if you fancy entering.... Sadly two of the finalists from last years event are away on holiday this year, so on the upside the title is open to be won [:)] Entry forms are available from myself or Harriet and to remind you there is no extra charge to enter... you must however get your tickets for the main entrance from Castle combe. garyw

OK I've entered, although what state it'll be in after the previous day's drive, who knows! Any other 997's?

It is with great regret that we are going to have to cancel the Register Concours at the Castle Combe day. With not enough entries to make a viable competition it has been decided that this is the fairest way forward. Those already entered have been given the opportunity to move into the main competition- so still some register interest there [:)] To be clear, we are still attending the Castle Combe day - so don't forget to order your tickets and book parking in the Porsche parking area. It is just the 997 register concours that will not be taking place. [] Lets hope the weather makes up for it... as the racing last year was excellent [8D] garyw

ORIGINAL: tscaptain We obviously have more drivers than polishers.......[;)]
Agree.. Most know my feelings [;)] but we are a broad church and some members may have wanted to do concours on fair terms with other members of the same model- heck theres enough complaining against us as newer car owners [&:] As a register we gave them a chance to stand forward and be counted... the result speaks for itself. Maybe in the future we will/can revisit this, overall the competitions do seem to be well attended as seen recently at the modern car day and the Polo... garyw

The Castle Combe main concours is indeed being very well supported with two sets of judges to cope with the entries. I am however sorry to see the 997 concours not happening as I know how much effort Gary has put into this, but unfortunately other elements prevail such as holidays, etc. Maybe next year .......[;)][;)][;)] Harriet

ORIGINAL: tscaptain Well, not me personally but I know what you mean![:)] (I do clean inside the petrol filler flap - does that count at all?[:D])
Yes it does count, it makes you a sad man... I just swill mine with petrol when I'm filling up [;)] Mind you not as bad as the member who has just joined the caravan club- who will remain nameless for the meantime....[:)] garyw
