Full warranty etc etc....
In reply to the other comments, as far as I am aware OPC's are restricted to sell second hand cars below list. There is still a healthy waiting list and there are people still selling for around list. Problem is I love the car and if I stand to loose too much I will cancel or sell my C4S spot and keep the one I have.
Just thought that I would see if there is anyone interested out there..
Cheers

Really?
That seems restrictive...

I think someone is pulling someone's leg.
Of course an OPC would not be able to sell Porsche supplied new cars above 'list', but they will obviously endeavour to sell used cars for as much as the market will bear.
Nowadays, from what I can judge, 997s are readily available and OPCs tend to want a margin of £5k on a used sale, after preparation costs.
The best way to make a judgement is to find out the best re-purchase price from your OPC. If this isn't good enough you could add £3 - 4,000 and try a private sale. If this doesn't work then it is a personal choice whether to go for the C4S. Financially it may not make sense because the C4S will probably drop in value as soon as it is used and, being pragmatic, probably won't be any better than the C2S.
Mind you, your C2S does sound attractive and, at the right price, someone would buy it, I'm sure.
I recon within a year from now delivery mileage cars or cancelled order cars will be available from some main dealers for around list, as production ramps up and speculators collectively scramble to find buyers. So let's say you get your car in Jan, then by the end of next summer the dealer bid for a lightly used car will be around List -£7k. Total depreciation for you would be £14k. IMHO, of course.[]

What did you get for your 997 'S'' on eBay....
I am a littel suprised that the 997 'S' appears to be dropping as much a it is already...especially with such good press etc.
I guess its down to demand as always, themore cars that are available the lower the price....shame....expensive hobby

Stefan, from what I have read about the 4S, it seems that it is indeed a fabulous car but not worth the extra over the S. If I were you and already had a 2S, I'd hang on to it and put the same money into another 2S with the X51 kit. Have you driven a 4 and can you really tell the difference?
Agree with this observation. A 2S with power kit is the way to go. Turn off all that electric nonsense and enjoy the extra hp.
Similiar power to the current GT3 with rear seats! Even the kids are content. Happy days.

I have just been offered £60,000 for my 997S by Porsche Hatfield as the Cayman S is due soon. It is Basalt black March 2005 on 05. 1,800 miles, black leather, sports seats, RAC trackstar plus, sports chrono 6 disc auotchanger. List £66150.
Any other takers.
If you've been offered 60K on a car that lists at 66K - take it!
Most OPC's will want at least 5k out of a sale on this car. Which means they will be putting it up at 65k ish???

Dapster - Whats an X51 kit.I have considered a different exhaust, even though the 997 sounds better than previous 996 in standard form it still doesn't have that good sound. I fitted a Gambella to my last 996 and it was well worth the money.
I tend to agree with you know having read numerous articles on the 4S.
Bowlane - Thats not a bad Part exchange price considering that they will mark up your car to close on list if not more. Have you considered selling privately, with such a new car should not make much difference with warranty etc.
Thanks
Stefan
