Amazing car.

I had a deposit down but wasn't one of the lucky 500, just a case of watching for anyone selling and then getting in.

Very nice Lee but what's the orange job on the trailer?[;)]

Ah, that "orange job" is up for sale.

Full on trackday weapon, however needs constant TLC and money and was really intended for motorsport purposes. I decided last year that I'd go with two different approaches instead:

1. M3 CSL for UK tracks, airfields, general learning
2. Porsche for larger UK tracks, 'ring trips and more general enjoyment

So there we have it :)

You don't deal in less than 600bhp then! How much does the Evo weigh, out of interest? Nice vid around the ring too[;)]

Good luck with the sale - I have my track toy already[:)]

The evo is 1340Kg, not as light as you'd expect given the GRP doors and carbon panels.

Although the evo has around the same power as the GT2RS, its slightly different in reality.

evo: 450lb/ft, but from 4500rpm
por: 520lb/ft, but from 2250rpm

proof that there's no substitute for capacity :)

then of course there's transmission loss from a 4WD compared to 2WD.

Don't even get me started on aerodynamics, the evo is like a brick. Its geared for a top speed of 165mph and frankly you would not want to go any faster. At those speeds the GRP doors flap around and you can see daylight at the top. Not to mention the noise inside the car.

Chalk and Cheese.

Both cars would fare equally well in a high speed off at the 'ring though ;-)

Interesting Lee - both our track toys are running around 450-460 bhp/ton then![;)] Torque band on mine is very narrow though and peaks at 240 lb/ft (Oh it weighs in around 650 kgs [;)]) A tad harder to get the best out of it compared to the 997 turbo............

Will be interesting to see how the GT2RS compares out on track. I am 100% certain that it will do poorer, on account of the guy behind the wheel $hitting himself about the market value under his right foot ;-)

I always find that a great motivator to be more careful and drive a bit more cautiously.............[:-]
