[FONT=verdana, geneva"][FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]We’ve chosen the award winning 4* Wroxall Abbey Hotel for its location and facilites. Dating back to the 12th Century, it was once the Country Seat of Sir Christopher Wren. Wroxall Abbey is not only a beautiful luxury hotel in Warwickshire, but one of the most historic, with an unrivalled location set in 27 acres of unspoilt parkland and gardens. Gary and Jo Wiln have kindly scouted it out for us and passed it with flying colours.

The hotel has wonderful facilities including a spa and swimming pool. You can take a look at it the website http://www.wroxall.com/ and there's YouTube video here.

Members and guests will enjoy:-

  • Arrival Cocktail
  • 3 course dinner + complimentaries
  • Private room and bar
  • Front of house sports car parking
  • Luxury room at hotel with Spa and pool facilities
Rooms are limited at our special concessionary rate of £166.90 to include dinner, bed and breakfast based on 2 sharing. Single rooms are also available at £110.95. If you’d like to make a weekend of it, you will be able to book additional nights at a special rate of £95 B&B.

Our gala Christmas dinner will include one of Alan’s world renowned quizzes (if we can persuade him to put one on).
Members can make their choice from the 3 course Festive menu with coffee and petit fours provided. The menu will be available from November.

Rooms in the Mansion House are on a first come, first served basis. You will need [FONT=calibri"]the c[FONT=verdana, geneva"]ontact details and booking references to reserve your place. So please contact me on 997@porscheclubgb.com The hotel will take a £50 deposit at time of booking.

This is always an enjoyable end-of-season get-together and we hope to be announcing some optional Friday afternoon activities too very soon. As usual with Sunday 4th being the Club Christmas Open Day at Cornbury House, we will be popping down the Fosse Way to Moreton-in-Marsh on Sunday morning for a bit of PCGB hospitality and retail therapy in the Club shop.

Christmas is coming folks so get your names down now! My thanks go to Gary and Jo for setting this event in motion for us.

Regards,

Clive

Reserves

Really pleased to see members interest in this event.
Always a nice get-together to end the year off in style.
With the last few years its been dry/no snow weather and I hope it continues that way and we can enjoy the Sunday drive to HQ

Plans are afoot for the daytime, but I know some are planning on booking treatments- well for their wives rather than themselves

We've booked for the Friday night as well. Possibility of the boys going off for a hoon and the ladies indulging in some pampering [:D]

looking forward to it [:)]

Crikey, only announced couple of days ago and 20 couples already. Looks like a change of venue was in order!

Indeed, very encouraging and thanks to everyone for booking in early. It certainly helps us as organisers and provides a lot more clout with the hotel. [:)]

We've managed to secure a few more rooms today, so if you haven't made your reservation yet, there's still an opportunity to do so. You will need booking references to get the Porsche deal though, so please contact me in the first instant - 997@porscheclubgb.com.

Regards,

Clive.

.. and no doubt the three line whip announced by our erstwhile and now 991less Dear Leader at the 991 Wales Spring Tour.

I'm pleased to say that the daytime visit on the 3rd is almost in the final planning stages.
I'm hoping to be able to make the announcement within the next week.

Just a reminder, we are holding a reserve list to attend, so if you think you may be interested in joining us, please do let myself or Clive know.

PS can an admin stick this to the top.

I'm pleased to announce the exclusive visit for those attending the Christmas party on 3rd December
I’ve arranged for exclusive and private visit for the Register to return to Sulgrave Manor once again,
[FONT=calibri"]http://www.sulgravemanor.org.uk/[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
Sulgrave Manor
Sulgrave
OX17 2SD
Where they will once again perform the Tudor themed Christmas tour around the various rooms at the manor, you'll get the chance to meet and greet various people including the Lord of the Manor, the housekeeper and the cook.
They will describe how they celebrated Christmas back in Tudor times including how many of today’s terms were originated ‘the upper crust’ etc.
Hopefully this time it won't be as smokey!! but will be as memorable as it was previously. [:D]

They are opening up for us exclusively on the day, so the Tour to start at 13.00, so hopefully late enough in the day for people to get there from the various locations around the UK to join us.
The tour is once again concluded with tea/coffee and festive mince pies in the orangery, the cost is £10.60 per person- which includes the visit and refreshments.
Addition drinks/snacks can be purchased individually.

For those travelling afar, there is a public house opposite the carpark, which I'm sure will welcome early visitor with toilets and refreshments.

For those that are staying at the Abbey on the Friday night , I am working on a route for a group drive from the Main hotel at Wroxall on the morning taking the long interesting way to Sulgrave.
Following the visit and refreshments, I’ll have a more direct route back to the hotel, to allow plenty of time for people to enjoy the facilities and freshen up prior to the main event that evening
So;
3rd December 2016
Tour Starts 13.00
Cost £10.60 per person for entrance and refreshments

Please post below or contact Clive (lancerlot@hotmail.co.uk) to update your interest in attending this part of the day.

It was [:-]
I was quite surprised myself, I can still smell the smoke [:)][:D]

How time flies, when having fun [:)]
Looks like my photo bucket account has ceased [&:] so will have to reload them.

Although we are already currently full for our Christmas Party, there is still sometime to go (we have to have a summer yet![:)]) so there may well be an odd place or 2 becoming available later on.

I am therefore starting a reserve list and if you haven't yet managed to get you name down for this highly popular event, but would like to join us, now is your chance. Please post here or email me on lancerlot@hotmail.co.uk. We will deal with reserves on a first come, first served basis - so the sooner you get your name down, the more chance you will have. Don't delay, apply today! :p

There's been excellent take-up for the Saturday lunchtime Sulgrave Manor tour and our hosts tell us they can take more by spitting us up into smaller groups, so if you're coming to the party and would like to take this tour too, please let me know.
Regards,

Clive White
