Thinking about purchasing 997 Turbo Gen 1, Can anyone let me know if prices have bottomed out? Ive seen one up for 55K Manual 30k miles, assume this is half the price when new….Sounds a good price?

Thanks

I'm new to the Club, so just finding my way, thought i would get some feedback in general discussion Forum.....I'll post on the 997 Forum.

thanks

Stuart welcome to the Club ...... Yes it can be easily done .... but please don't leave us please come and post some madness ..... Hope to see you at an event soon.

There seem to be 2006 cars available from around £40K, although these have the less popular tiptronic transmission - so a lot of car for the money. It's a matter of choice whether you pay the premium for low mileage and manual transmission. Condition and service/owner history have a great influence on value too! [8|]

You'll need to post on the FortunetellersRus forum for the answer to that one! [:D]

Looking through the PH adverts the prices of Gen 2 turbos don't seem to have dropped much in the last year but, as Clive says, who knows!

I have a 2007 manual car in A1 condition with similar mileage and have been told by my OPC that its value is increasing (now circa £55k retail which ties in with the car you are looking at )...... I bought new and have had serviced and warranted at the OPC. I was told the manual Gen1 turbos are now very much in demand and hence prices rising. Buy one, you will not regret it.......

Thanks Keith - That's what I suspected!!

I was looking for a Daily driver, I only cover circa 6k miles per Annum so thought the Turbo would be a good shout...

I've enquired about the one with 30k on the clock but its just been reserved :( Doesn't seem to be many Manual Gen 1's about, if you see one on your travels let me know.....If you don't mind that is.......

Hi Stuart

Prices have definitely risen in the last year during the time i had been looking, i went for spec & history with a reasonable milage as a low milage example was out of my budget.

IMO

decent spec reasonable milage 45k+ don't buy one without an inspection......

Used now as a daily driver & it's amazing!!!

Thanks Karl

Defo getting an Inspection! I bought a mint GT3 a few months ago, i had it Inspected by Peter Morgan. I looked at another car before the GT3, had it Inspected by Peter It was a Dog, best money i ever spent thats for sure.

Cost me two lots of Inspection fees but i have a great car now!!

997.1 turbos bottomed out around 2 years ago when cheaper cars could be had for around £38k.

They have appreciated around £10k to £15k in the last 2 years.

Nearly bought a late spec 2009 997.1 manual turbo for £54k at the beginning of last year, also missed out on a privately owned 2009 year car for £50k. Both cars had around 28,000 miles. Currentlay similar cars are around £62k to £65k

Hope that helps

Given that the car is usable as a daily, there are cars out there with high mileages, right through to cars with very low mileages. I think, excluding the leggy examples (the more leggy examples the better for us with low mileage mint cars) there's not that many cars out there.

Reading this thread, i'm interested in getting my 2006 '06 17,000 miler valued. I use it more than the previous 3 owners but have only managed 7000 miles in just under 2 years due to personal circumstances. Hoping to use it more going forwards. Great fun in sport mode. Pulls incessantly.
