997 Turbo - Major service

ORIGINAL: chrismouzou

Had my service 2weeks ago they wavered my 111 point check cost

Thanks, it is good to know that there are some decent OPC's around.

I emailed my disgust to my OPC this morning telling them that I would no longer use them and this evening received an email back stating that they had referred the matter to Porsche?!?

This must be smoke and mirrors and has nothing to do with Porsche. This is a commercial decision on the part of the OPC and I have made a commercial decision to go elsewhere.

Completely agree, they are Franchises and set there own accounts- they are probably complaining to PorscheGB that the others are making happy customers [&:]

Gary you haven't lost your sense of humour!

I love my Turbo but if anything could put me off Porsche (apart from the price) it is the local OPC's money grabbing attitude. The local OPC used to be run by and for enthusiasts but they lost their shirts on property speculation. Hate to say it but although I am happy to wait for the new Turbo and even put down a deposit I will have to source it elsewhere or change marques.

Clean bill of health!!

I supplied my own oil (8L) and needed an MOT and a replacement front numberplate (as cracked) - total came to £1237. Very happy with that!

Also got to see about 10 x 991's out the back (up close and personal) and going out for test drives around the OPC! You really are hard pressed to tell them apart from a gen2 997 even when they are parked next to one!

My ceramic brake pads are about 75% worn on the fronts and 50% worn on the rears (nothing to worry about right now) so I asked how much new brakes would be and was told that I would only need pads (ceramics last forever unless you overheat them on the track and they crack) and so are actually pretty reasonable wear and tear costs - phew!

Hi from sunny Barbados

Great news, OPC agreed to do the 111 point check FOC after sending me a long email giving me all the datails of the check and explaining that they hsve to charge as instructed by Porsche! This is to restore my faith in them and a gesture of goodwill.

Naturallly I am locked into them for the next two years and I am not sure that I am all that happy considering I had decided to go Indie and had to make a fuss but overall I think that it is the right decision.

Cheers
