porsche sent technician who for £155 fitted Porsche stronger battery as opposed to £280 from OPC with labour charge. Job done...many tks for advise all
I would not go along with that at all. From my limited experience (Boxster S) the brakes bind terribly at the slightest excuse, especially if you go the whole hog and use a wheel brush which does a good job of flinging water onto the inside faces of the discs. Under the guise of the warranty inspection, the OPC will suggest (demand) a disc change at the slightest sign of pitting, so I now regard a brake-drying run as compulsory after a wash.ORIGINAL: davidcross
The other thing was that i mentioned that i brake dry the brakes when i clean the car but he said that no ill effects wud happen to the disks after cleaning for up to a month so no real need to brake dry .
Wish that were true! Since retirement I seem busier than ever. Just can't pass on a gadget.......[]ORIGINAL: davidcross
you have too much time on your hands!!!
Now that's got to be worth a YouTube video. Does 'er indoors know that's why you've been borrowing her appliance?ORIGINAL: tscaptain
...so have to give it the hairdryer treatment instead. Not as good but better than nowt.

Other one is that down here, this time of year, if I take mine "round the block" to dry the brakes it comes back dirty again! Vicious circle - so have to give it the hairdryer treatment instead. Not as good but better than nowt.
I do know the value of my own life!![] Don't think I'm the only one around here to suggest it or similar.ORIGINAL: spyderman

I'm glad it's not just me then - starting to get a bit worried there[]ORIGINAL: jonathanw
I use a "dog blaster" to dry my car and the brakes.
