A better picture

I don't think you can blindly trust what journalists tell you though. They are certainly the experts, but sometimes even they get it wrong or they change their minds. For example, they raved about the Jaguar S Type when it came out, only to pan it a year or so later listing a whole raft of its shortcomings. Chris Harris had nothing good to say about the (996)GT2 when it was launched and now can't stop praising it. And they've flip-flopped on the Aston Martin DB9 and Vanquish as well. These are just a few examples.

But even if they are complete right, what works for the expert driver journalist might not work for you. Even if it is true that the 997 has a better ride, there is no way round the the fact that the 997S has more power and better brakes. Which car works better for you will surely depend on what your personal preferences are regarding, this trade-off between more power and better ride, not on what some expert has to say about it.

For me it's a no-brainer; I'll happily sacrifice a bit of ride quality for more torque and better breaks. Perhaps if I were an expert driver, or under different circumstances this would not be the case.

Either way, advice is nice, but try them all yourself before you buy.[;)]
