A DAY OUT WITH ASTON MARTIN!

[FONT=verdana, geneva"]As some will know, I've been trying to arrange a factory visit to Aston Martin at Gaydon Warwickshire for quite a while now and I'm pleased to report, at long last I've finally had a break-through and can announce we have an agreement in principle for a factory tour for our members. But it's better than that, because we're being offered not only a look around the factory, but a buffet lunch followed by demonstration drives in some of the latest models with expert factory drivers on hand to explain the nuances of the marque.

I'm also trying to tie in with the sales team at Aston's new Southwest dealership in Bristol for a breakfast meet prior to a run up the M5 to Gaydon and the rest of the day spent at the factory. There is a cost attached at £120 per person, but having already done the tour myself, I can assure everybody it's an unforgettable experience and well worth the outlay.

I'm thinking about an early October date and it will need to be a weekday, probably a Wednesday or Thursday, to ensure the factory is in full production when we go along. I would also like to avoid potential traffic delays associated with the Friday homeward rush. So I just need an indication at this stage as to how many will be interested in the project.

There is no commitment at this stage, but I do need an idea of potential interest so I can progress to the next stage and sort out a date. Please post here or email contact at 997@porscheclubgb.com.

Clive

Clive,

I did this a couple of years ago with the RAC and it is a very interesting tour + the drives.

If in September I couldn't make it but if October would like to attend if possible.

Ralph,
No reason why we couldn't do it say first week of October if that were good for everybody, but I'm aware I also need to dovetail a potential Cosworth factory visit in around then too.

Previously owned an Aston Martin and have visited the factory, however would love another opportunity for a look around and a demo run.

With over 20 members and their guests already indicating interest in this visit, I think we can say there are enough of us to make it is a goer. So I will now move forward and get back to the factory to sort out the date and booking procedure,

Thanks to everyone for their prompt replies and please stand by for further news! [:D]

The Aston Martin factory visit sounds very good, but as I'm not a regular user of the forum I have missed it until now. I shall look forward to further developments.

Since my earlier post I have discovered that the settings on my computer needed correcting, so apologies for the misleading date
