Mel

Nice to see you in the flesh lst night.........regards .. Robert

Shhhhh! You'll make Vic jealous.....

Mel
PS Don't mention Jim's nipples.....

I've just bought a neat little TomTom Go.

Well, if you don't want to follow BKE! [;)]

Good choice of kit Carl, I am very pleased with my Tom Tom set up. It provides much peace and harmony in our car when, in the past, the navigator (Belinda) received significant flack.

Re: Tom Tom

A word of caution: Be carefull programming in the address. It asks you for a town first but subsequently will throw up road names of about 50 miles radius - make sure you don't ask it to take you to a road of the same name in another town. Rick still takes the Micky out of me after we went to a GT3 bash in Tonbridge via Cantebury.

I've been reading about version 4.40 of TomTom Go which includes poi (points of interest). You can upload postcodes and use these to navigate to. (There's also a database of speed cameras too).

You can indeed. My additional POI's include:-

Tesco stores with cafes - very good for a cheap big breakfast
Shell Garages - A must for us Optimax users though, it must be said, it isn't a very conclusive data base.
Motor Racing Circuits - very important.

The more you use that sat nav the more you will wonder how you managed without it - assuming you don't have BKE to follow of course.

Very impressed with the features it has. Just set up warnings for speed cameras and locations of shell stations, national trust & english heritage sites. I'll have to to drive to ... erm ... somewhere to test it out now ...

John, sorry to wander off topic (but you guys started it [:D]). Can I have a demo of this toy next time we meet up? I've been thinking of a handheld navigator but have never seen one in action - I paticularly like the idea of cafe and Optimax locations - very useful for cheap grub and go faster juice [8D]

I'd be honoured Paul, but you must realise that you will want one afterwards and I can't be held responsible for the depletion of your disposable income. But then why should I care, I have to put up with Rick constantly showing me things that I didn't know I wanted until I'd seen them. [:D]

Is this Tom-Tom Go that plugs in to any car and talks to you? I'd be interested too!

Mel

I got the TomTom Go. It does indeed talk to you. Mine sits in the car and says things like 'You're a crap driver' and 'Give me more money now'. Oh no sorry, thats the wife ...
