Adjusting headlights for driving on the right

Thanks Fred for the offer. I'm here in Spain until the end of May but wil be leaving the car here in the garage until we return in August. Then at the end of of October. We'll bring the car back to sunny Scorton and let Jasmine Porschalink do a service on it. Hopefully I will have secured a pair of right dipping lights very. Soon from a shop in German.
Hopefully the weathled around Blackpool and St Michaels has calmed down.
Regards
David

It seems to have taken Porsche rather a long time to catch up with other marques. Back in the 1980s, I was able to adjust my E30 3-series and E34 5-series BMWs' headlamps for full LH or RH output using only a cross-head screwdriver in less than 10 minutes, usually whilst waiting in the queue to board a cross-channel ferry. More recent models don't need any tools to make the switch-over.

Thanks Alan,
It was so easy back in the day when most, if not all, cars had simple straightforward round headlamps. A couple of turns on the screws each side of the lights and it was job done. But with the advent of 'design' practicality has gone out of the window, in my humble opinion. Lights are brighter, they need to be to keep up with the speed of the modern steed. It's a bit of a bugger when you have to buy a new set of headlights to satisfy one's own desire to have 100% perfect illumination when over here in Spain.
Happy New Year and thanks for your comment.

Friends of mine, with very recent model BMWs with styled lamp units, report that a changeover can be performed on their cars without tools, including those equipped with Xenons. It seems to be a case of Porsche either being slow to adapt or trying to maximise profitabilty. I suspect that it's rather a case of the latter.

Thank you BartyB. It might be that I'll have to get a later model to satisfy my requirements. But, I'll stay with the Boxster.

For the last seventy odd years I've tried and been successful in doing exactly that Peter. You never know, by some stroke of genius a simple suggestion will conquer all. I'll not hold my breath though.
Thanks for your input.

Good news Alan, 981 Boxsters now know when they are abroad and no adjustments necessary, it says so in the handbook. Porsche have got there at last!
