Advice on buying a Boxter?

Actually I've never been hassled by other motorists. They seem more willing to give way etc.

Rodney and Helen - you can not be serious!

Come and spend a week, no a day, in Gloucestershire and I'll give you a tenner for every white van, GTI, Mondeo and Chav who gives way for you and you give me 10p for each one that doesn't. I know who will go home with a fatter wallet.

I've been stationary at the lights in Stow after a meet at Cornbury and had a bunch of yobs in a car behind me hurling abuse at me for no other reason that I had a Porsche and they didn't.

And so you might Helen - I live it 365 days a year! and most of those days I'm driving the car!

It's not all antiques and Cotswold Stone and were you driving a Porsche in when you lived in Wotton?

Oh dear, should I avoid the Cotswolds then? I have secured a Boxster for the weekend so my wife and I can give it a try. Guess we will have to find somewhere else to go...

I have the 'pleasure' of living in Essex - probably the most aggressive place to drive you can find. I rarely get hassled in the Porsche. Driving my wifes Ford fungus ST170 is another story however... [&:]

I am really curious about the 9 cars pre specced with no deposit. I was led to believe Porsche don't build unless a firm order has been taken. Does this mean the OPC are buying cars in at their own cost?

The story that I was given by the OPC salesman was that they had been such good boys beating their sales targets that they had been allocated a few extra cars for their troubles. These would be new, and to the OPC's spec. The OPC would sell them all on as new and not demos. This was back in Feb I think. Last week I was speaking to them and the wait on a new customer order 2.7 was Nov though I did't enquire about the pre specced situation.

In March, the OPC sold 93 cars (new and used) - more than the Peugeot dealers in Colchester and Chelmsford put together!!
