Aftermarket Chips - Ideas?

I found a superchips one in my ecu when I went to fit Promax. No idea how long that had been there but car was running about 270bhp on standard fpr and an old school bleed valve!

An ebay chip is the last thing I'd want managing my fuelling, unless it's a legit suppliers ebay shop. I'm still running a 90's original BBR starchip that came already installed in the car, fairly sure it's running plenty rich when I get flames every 5-10 gear changes :)

Found a set of these in mine too when I went to fit the Promax chips.
I've toyed with the idea of changing to promax , did you notice much difference?

I'm not too clued up on my setup but the bbr paperwork mentions a wastegate shim I think, and it has a basic flow restrictor inserted in the pressure take off hose.

It all sounds pretty old school to be honest and sort of similar to what I had on my car. I was able to get the mods I needed by being patient and collecting the bits and bobs as I went, mostly 2nd hand tbh. I would recommend a known good chip-set (Promax, JMG etc) or a custom re-map (Wayne Schofield, Chip Wizards) and in terms of hardware, a 3 bar FPR, a dual port wastegate, a manual boost controller and a decent re-circ valve and you should be able to run a reliable 300bhp or so. MAF is nice but not cheap but will make the car flow air better, boost spool quicker and behave better off boost (less lag) too.

Thanks for the info, I will definitely be doing something to bring it up to date a bit but probably not as far as maf, it's the cabriolet so I don't want to wander too far from standard stuff

Yes but I did fit other bits at the same time.
