Well I am told there was a cost to the Club, hence cost to those who did not go. I can only go on what I am told.

I don't understand this, Derek. If you "only go on what you're told", why comment here without at least getting both sides to "tell you"? [8|]

I have had both sides of the story. On balance, I have taken a view somewhere in the middle. It seems to me that, if you include all the disputed ammounts, last year's event could not have lost more than a very small amount, if anything at all. Certainly not a cost to the overall membership to compare with pretty much any other event; many don't go to Silverstone Classic, for instance. If you read my posts at the time I was the one bemoaning the cost to members who didn't go, but I took the time to get the facts. I think a tiny amount of the Club's overall income could be spent on Le Mans as a halo event, if indeed there was any loss at all.
