Hi All :)

As there have been some queries about free entry to Ragley hall next Sunday etc..

Here is the "Official line"

I have just spoken to Daniel Winder at club office (he is in charge of the Ragley Hall event)

The official line is >>>>>>

All 928 Cars and passengers do not need a ticket for Ragley.

All 928s Cars and passengers will be let in free on the day.

All 928s Will be going to a special presentation area for 30th Anniversary.

There will be 2 lectures on 928s starting at 12 o`clock....

1, By myself on Nitrous

2, By Adrian Clarke on Supercharging

There will be a third lecture by Mike Cotton (ex Porsche Press officer) at 1 pm in the main hall.

Hope this clarifies things, any questions please ask :)

All the best Brett :)

Brett,

I am arriving in a D Reg 1987 928 S4 @ 9-10am Sunday
Any special signs or place where I have to head for on entering Ragley, or will 928's automatically be routed to exhibition spot ? will i be able to get away OK at 4pm from this spot ?

Please advise
Thanks
Ian

Hi Ian :)

Yes there should be someone on the gate to direct you to the FREE 928 area :)

You dont have to be a member of anything to get in free....just turn up in a 928 :)

I would think most people will be leaving by 4 pm anyway so cannot see a problem with that .

All the best Brett :)

This isn't directed at Brett, but club membership and directors...

Would make sense for non-members to be encouraged to join the club at the event. Will there be membership reps on hand to sell the benefits of membership to 928 driving non-members who are enjoying free entry?

Or a better idea would have been to reduce the price of membership by the £15 entry fee!!!!!

what about members who have already pre bought entry tickets. i have asked club office and had no answer from them. do i get my £15 refunded ?

Hi GLEN :)

Offical answer from club office is....

Any "member" of the Pcgb who paid will get a refund.

Any "non member" who paid will not get a refund.

Sorry :(

All the best Brett :)

Hi Alex :)

Let me know where and I will buy a dozen please :)

Trouble is its £100 to fill the tank :)

And a lot less than 200 miles from a full one :)

All the best Brett :)

thanks for that Brett. glad somebody has taken the time to answer my question. why could club office not have told me !!!!

Have I got this right,
non members will be getting into the PCGB national event for free, and all the rest of us who are members have to pay.
Who organised this one. Who in the club is responsible for this decision.

what a load of old pony, somebody organises a stupidly big event that it is clear there will be little interest due to cost and the fact that it is over so many days.

Then instead of just cancelling the event somebody makes a decision that those that weren't intersted in paying originally should get free entry into our event.
As PCGB 928 forum moderator Brett can't you do something about this, you must have some sway as the forum leader. Any man and his dog with a 928 can get in free, wouldn't be so bad if it was just PCGB members, at least that I could understand(although not sure why that would even be logical).

Hi K300 :)

I REALLY wish I could have done something about this....

I might be a lot of things ,,,that they called me in that thread lol...but one thing I am not is stupid or inefficient... :(

These decisions were taken BEFORE I even heard about them :(

And taken by people way above my lowly head as a mere 928 moderator.

All that seems to have occured not is that ALL 928 ers seem to have aquired a bad name when its NOT their fault....

AH well they seem to pick on us for everything else....like owning the only proper Porsche so I suppose we will manage to live with it....

When I leave my office this evening, I will twist that key and hear that huge V8 rumble into life and smile......thats what makes all this worth it to me :)

All the best Brett :)

Brett, please be fair. Not one post has criticised the 928, in fact people have been very complimentary about the cars.

The problem is partly with the free entry - not your fault but still unfair on the rest of us - but primarily with your attitude. Gloating is not a good way to endear yourself to the rest of the Club, and the stupid smiles don't conceal an aggressive personality that has no place within the Club.

If i was a 928 owner, and I nearly was ;-)

I'd prefer a less personal forum that allowed others to contribute freely. I guess it's up to the 928 members to say if they have a problem with you,*******************************************************************************

All the best....[:'(]

For everyones information.
A couple of years ago the 928's did not have a forum and Brett posted on the General forum about this. Not content to let matters take their course ******************** about PCGB on the TIPEC forum making himself about as popular there as he has been on the Members only pages of this forum.
Unfortunately our 'ADMIN' was misguided enough to give in and appoint him 928 Moderator.
That was a couple of years ago and I now urge our current 'Adinistrators' to review this situation.
I further urge 928 owners to visit the Members Only pages to see just the interests of the owners of a fine and distinctive Porsche model has ben jepodised by Brett.

That's what I like to see, people being able to express themselves honestly and frankly........or perhaps not.

As a fellow forum moderator rather than big up the role I shall be honest. Forum moderation involves nothing more than reading the posts and (almost never) gently pointing people in the right direction if their posts are out side the spirit of the forum.

Let me make it clear - forum moderators have no more information, sway, power, impact or input into anything else within the Club. We just moderate. So please Brett, stop trying to big up the role.

In respect of anti 928 comments on the other thread - while some (regarding the car) may have been tongue in cheek I don't believe anyone expressed an issue over 928's. As I said, I've got a 944 so why would I have an issue with a gas guzzling barge that needs two engines to move it. [;)]

For what ever reason 928's are getting into Ragley free. It is pretty much universally accepted that it was the wrong decision but can't now be rescinded. What has annoyed, infuriated, frustrated and inflamed other members on the other thread is Brett's attitude. He has been threatening and generally inflammatory.

This whole issue has caused very bad feeling within the Club and I would urge 928 Owners to consider strongly Helen Goff's suggestion of donating the £15 you should be paying to a charity. Perhaps Brett would like to do something useful and organise this.
