ALL 928s FREE Entry to Ragley Hall !!!!!!

ORIGINAL: geoff ives

For everyones information.
A couple of years ago the 928's did not have a forum and Brett posted on the General forum about this. Not content to let matters take their course ******************** about PCGB on the TIPEC forum making himself about as popular there as he has been on the Members only pages of this forum.
Unfortunately our 'ADMIN' was misguided enough to give in and appoint him 928 Moderator.
That was a couple of years ago and I now urge our current 'Adinistrators' to review this situation.
I further urge 928 owners to visit the Members Only pages to see just the interests of the owners of a fine and distinctive Porsche model has ben jepodised by Brett.

ASTERISKS ARE FROM ME ..BRETT MODERATOR HERE...I HAVE DELETED A LIE....THIS FORUM "HAS MODERATION" UNLIKE MEMBERS ONLY

Now you have abused your position and called me a liar. I can prove what I said as it is a matter of record.

MODERATOR

I think it is time to close this thread down as it has had enough "air time"and is becoming both boring and abusive.

Lets just get on and enjoy Ragley Hall and hope that those that have made it happen can be rewarded with some thanks at the end of the day.

Have fun

what about members who have already pre bought entry tickets. i have asked club office and had no answer from them. do i get my £15 refunded ?

you could sell it at the gate, would be easier than te club having to give out refunds.

Hi :)

Refunds of £15 WILL be given by club office to "Members" only.

Please contact Daniel Winder reference refund.

All the best Brett :)

But then, as a member, you are a share holder of the Club so it is your £15 any way. So why would you want it back?

On the other hand, I'm also a share holder of the Club so I could be giving you £15 of my money so you can then attend the event for free when I have to pay £15.

Under the circumstances I'm rather glad I don't have a 928 at the moment.

This whole issue has caused very bad feeling within the Club and I would urge 928 Owners to consider strongly Helen Goff's suggestion of donating the £15 you should be paying to a charity. Perhaps Brett would like to do something useful and organise this.

Good call John, (at the risk of opening up another can of worms) as it happened the 968 register where originally going to get free entry into Silverstone Classic because of the anniversary of RHDs etc. so I proposed that we should all donate the entry fee to the NSPCC rather than just be handed a freebie - to which the members agreed.
As it turned out Louisa didn't organise things very well and we all paid the entrance fee and that includes me as RS.
No problems, and as you saw we still had a massive turnout, we didn't need any incentive to turn up other than the enthusiasm for the cars and the club.
As it turned out some of the members still made the donation to the NSPCC, including a chap in the states that couldn't make it, the guy that organised breakfast donated the profits to the NSPCC and I have asked the club and they have now been kind enough to also make a substantial donation to the NSPCC through the 968 register because of what the NSPCC lost from the register members.

These things can be organised properly with good results if enough thought and effort is put into it. I think that making a donation to a charity should have been put forward by the organiser from the outset.

All of this just shows to me what a great bunch of guys the 968 register are, of course that doesn't mean that others in other registers aren't great guys.[;)][;)] (Not wishing to open up another can of worms chaps.)

a fine idea K300

I also think that Brett should pay an addition £15 for each person that turns up to his so called lecture, that's a fair price as it should not be free as he should be paying those who attend.

Hi :)

To give this lecture is going to cost me several hundred pounds...

So no I wont be paying £15..........

All the best Brett :)

Geoff

I took the trouble to read the 227 messages on the Ragley hall saga and to be honest there were a few insults that were directed at Brett (messages 67, 68, 75, 81, 84,5,6 etc) before the offending Brett response and why are people offended so easily!!! its the directors that are at fault.

ps and I wish K300 had been about at the beginning of the message and then sense may have prevailed !!!

A really good turnout, and some impressive cars.

Very nearly looks as good as mine. [;)][:)]

May be only half the cylinders but less is more and all that.[8D]

Not to forget though that it would have meant £1350 to the club or a charity, I hope a lesson has been learned.

Hi :)

I put this in another thread but it may be worth repeating here...

The Pcgb did NOT lose money by allowing 928s in free, as a fixed fee was paid for the whole event and not by car or by passenger etc...if you see what I mean..
It was a "gift" from the PCGB to 928 owners in a sense ,the free entry, and had a lot to do with various things including 928 Foreign owners who are obviously not PCGB members etc...

So luckily no loss at all to us (the club) as the fixed fee covered it [:D]

All the best Brett :)

Hi Brett,
I didn't say that the club 'lost' anything,
Not to forget though that it would have meant £1350 to the club or a charity, I hope a lesson has been learned.

However, if you feel that because an event is a 'fixed cost' there is no profit or loss associated with it or that an extra income doesn't have any effect at allm, I am sorry to have to tell you that you are mistaken.
If the club has £1350 more that it would have had, then it is clear that the club is a little bit healthier, surely you can see that. Maybe it would have paid for another coffeee machine or 2 . [;)]

Hi :)

I see your extremely valid point but it was a Board deciison not mine ( myself and no other 928 owners in the club had any input into the decision -having said that I am still a little suprised by the resentment it raised with other model owners - I would guess the Board didnt expect that either...) ......we didnt ask for it...it was a "gift" sort of....

And I dont like coffee lol...maybe a tea machine could be bought :)

All the best Brett :)

So as not to be rude in any way, I will simply say, dear John Sims, that I disagree with almost every word of your message. By the by, with the benefit of hindsight, having been to Ragley Hall, stuck in line for 1.5 hrs(just to get in) and then finding nothing to eat, drink, I do think that everyone should have been allowed in for free. Had things gone like this at a different kind of event people would have asked and, I think, received refunds. I will not be the only to think twice about attending the next such event.

I will not be the only to think twice about attending the next such event.

Surely this was the best attended 928 event ever? The cars just kept passing us on their way to the special parking area, a truly impressive sight. And, for free. OK, we all know that there were issues with entrance and food. I'd assume that we will learn from that and not repeat the mistakes. That's life....

I can't imagine what the 928 Register will have to do to get you out next time. Pay you to come? [8|]

Hi :)

Well as 928 owners are noted for loyalty....

I suspect that if I asked Gene to come to an event...he would....[:)]

All the best Brett :)

Brett,
If you want support, why don't you book a venue where you can run unsilenced and fill your bottles with 200kg of nitrous and let it rip. 220 mph? We'll pay to come and see it and once your engine has melted, we can all have a run as well. I think you'd make much more than that missing(!) £1350 as a surplus to poke into the PCGB sporran.

Hi Alex :)

Thats not a bad idea actually lol....

I might actually do it as it seems these days that the NIMBYs are winning the noise battle...

My engine wont melt by the way.....I might be a lot of things (just ask here lol) but a bad mechanic is not one of them....

I already "know" how fast my car is (in a straight line) ...and thats well over 200 but I have to "prove" it on paper...

My new RACE (500 HP) system will be in the car in the next month or so...so as my daily driver I can get some practice with it...

My 1000 hp system (Record events only) will be running and installable before xmas..ready for next year....thats the one that MAY break bits on the car....but melt no :)

All the best Brett :)
