Alternative sunroof stowage

ORIGINAL: robwright

Surely targa panels have to be stowed when removed?

Indeed they do, but given the amount of roof left after removing the 944's panel it wouldn't be that much more space than the current panel already takes up, yet would have given an almost full convertable feel. It just seems like Porsche were trying to come up with the best of both worlds and missed. [&o]

I wasn't aware that the deflector was supposed to move of it's own accord.  I thought that you positioned it for best results.

if you go fast enough it goes horizontal and the buffetng starts.

Talking of removing the sunroof, I assume you all know about the (secret?) of how to remove the toothed thingies that push the roof up and down without getting your hands all greasy?
Ummm, I'm slightly at sea with your description Sc0tty, but any helpful hints are always welcome, so do tell! [:)]

Oli.

If you put your key into the ignition in position 1 (or 2?) and then operate the sunroof switch, you can electrically retract the 2 toothed arms from the roof. You then unclip the 2 lugs from the front of the roof and bobs yer uncle !

That's the way the manual tells you to do it...

I did this by mistake the other day and I thought I had broken the sunroof!
