Another Display Car ....

Nice work Steve, some of the 64RS boy's will be seriously envious of your prowess with the polishing cloth.

Any plans to fettle or improve the car for next season?

It may be 2013 maybe 14, but by that time there should be nice black M002 "trophy hunter" on the scene, so best fill any empty space in your trophy cabinet while you have a chance! [;)]

Track days are great if you don't have to worry about the financial consequences of an accident or mechanical failure, I regrettably do not have such a bank account, with a current insurance valuation of £90,000, my excess is £9000, therefore I would be uninsured on a track for damaged up to that amount, how much was johnny senna's damage to his 993 rs at Oulton a few years ago? £40,000 I believe, then with the close knit porsche fraternity, forums etc, everybody knows its a damaged porsche resulting low values no matter how good the repair, everybody wants an original panel, matching numbers car, interestingly how many 2.7 rs are seen on the tracks these days? perhaps the escalating values of them come into the equation, Yes I have done quite a few track days over the years, all accident and mechanical failure free apart from a tyre failure resulting in a full set of toyo's fitted at Oulton, I was lucky, what I'm trying to say is that we can all throw our porsche around the track, its those who are fortunate enough not to have to worry about the costs are the winners, I on the other hand would struggle to finance an accident repair or an engine failure, therefore perhaps I'm the loser,
so Im gonna dust off me clogs, take the whippet for a walk, then its back down the pit again for an 18 hour shift. [:(]

Yes Paul, I plan on having the engine removed, the fan and housing need work, as does the varioram intake manifold, probably get the hardware re plated, and the mechanical tappets need adjusting, also thinking about removing the 8/32 king and pinion and reversing back to standard,
there is also a small scab under the windscreen seal on the LH side, this means the window out to sort, we all await to see Julians epic respray! he has blown some money on that rs, engine rebuild, transmission rebuild, respray etc etc a true true enthusiast for sure.
