Another prospective cayman owner!

Compared with a claimed 30mpg on the Cayman that's not bad. I've read reports of 18mpg by S owners on forums which would rule one out for me. Depends how are a car is driven of course.

around town computer reads out about 19mpg but overall i get mid 20`s.my sons aygo does 60mpg round town but you wont catch me driving it[:D]

I get 9 mpg with my Cirrus SR20 GTS. No very good considering it pushes out only 200 bhp. Mind you, I averaged 170 mph today for over 50 minutes! [:D]

My current car, a Jag XK8 4ltre returns 19mpg on petrol with local running about but I get 15mpg on lpg on same trip and that costs 46p/ltre so effectively 30mpg! Still no luck finding a decent caymen within my budget! Martin

I found a nice example today in grey metallic, 24K, registered Nov 2006 on 56 plate, well looked after, full history, 2 owners, I went and had a look and couldn't fault it, drove superbly well, asking price was £23,995 ono, private sale. Had the 18" wheels, new Bridgestone tyres, 3 spoke wheel, heated black seats, fitted mats etc.....seems nice! I'm thinking about it!

ORIGINAL: dyllan dont think too long at that price[:D]
I didn't, I bought it this morning (after a bit of haggling over the price) and drove it home this afternoon, well impressed, superb! It's in truly immaculate condition inside and out and it drives like a dream. Martin

So far, according to the computer, I've averaged 25.5mpg after 300 miles on the 1st proper full tank of fuel, mixed driving, various conditions etc......seems not bad at all. My Subaru Impreza would have achieved about 22mpg (measured) over the same journeys. I'm not sure how accurate the trip computer is, from past experience on other cars they are usually a bit optimistic (Subaru doesn't have one, I do it manually) martin

Just got back from a 5-day trip to the Ring and general area. Overall consumption for 1,800 miles was 24mpg including 15 laps of the Ring. Consumption varied from about 14.5 whilst lapping to 33mpg toodling home yesterday. The previous weekend we did about 1,500 miles in 4 days. Over both weekends combined I've added 400ml of oil. What a car! John
