Another Winter Resto

I always thought that plain ally sheeting would act as a hint sink localising heat rather then the heat shield which has a reflective surface(?)

I always thought that plain ally sheeting would act as a hint sink localising heat rather then the heat shield which has a reflective surface(?)

I repaired the torn mounting lugs with the aluminium and then covered it with the foil tape. Mirror finish for maximum reflectivity.

Popped into the workshop Saturday. Getting really excited now!

Just in etch primer it's easy to see what a beautiful shape the rear 3/4 is - Ferdinand got it bang on. Up there with the curves of a 308GTB I reckon.

A great job with proper underseal too... this stuff wasn't cheap either but worth doing.

Looks great Marcus-have you arranged the "third" mortgage yet? unless you are going in to do the flatting to help out.

For the moment I can't complain too much (but then it's all relative I guess). The labour rate is comparatively excellent value I thought at £30/hour. Been able to spread the cost during the year so far.

I'll also have you know I helped with masking tape up the whole car on Saturday - no discount though...

More pics in the next few days.

Good work on the underseal on the front. The water gets directed over there from the drainage holes so it's very important. Mine was all cracked and that lead to water seeping into the boot where it joins the boot floor. Having the bumper off re-undersealing it fixed it.

Home run... Booked in paint protection for the front at the end of next week. MOT at Ollie's and RPM the following week then my year wait for another trip to Le Mans.

Gotta hand it to these guys - very meticulous, took a while, anxious to the end, but worth it I'm sure (and hoping).

Monday... etch primer done (earlier pics) - now primer and good to go..

Tuesday... actually kind of really like matt finish, sort of like that RWB chappie's 930 in Japan. Something Buck Rogers or Batman with the second image [:D]

Today... Here she is - coming back to life! [:)]

Daytona Coachworx near Stevenage... Dave and Gordon there are a bit handy with the 911's and 928's.

Thanks - actually I have had heard of them, good to know there is a decent place nearby. Car is really coming along nicely.

Nice one - thanks, appreciated. Can later provide a link for full set of pics if interested.

Marcus

I can confirm they are very good as they did my 964 as well. Very happy with the result. marcus - you wont regret the front end paint protection.

Marcus, bet you're really getting excited now--looks wonderful already-is the finish going to be full gloss from the gun or will they flat it & repolish? & then clear lacquer?
