any recent 'Porsche Assist' experience ? ..... garage stranded 997.2

Just edited to put my comments to a previous post in bold. I'm happy to check and top up my battery levels, apparently a 2p piece is the best way to open the caps, but the dealer adds acid, if necessary. It would seem from some people's experiences on here, that 2 year intervals is probably too long to leave unchecked.

Apparently the 991 model has a different kind of battery, essentially maintenance free, wonder why this can't be fitted to a 997.

I think, that I may have answered a question above about the PCM, found further reference in the manual about it shuts down circa 10 mins after turning the ignition off.

991's are fitted with AGM batteries more suited to the stop/start technology. I assume this could be fitted to a 997, but I'm unsure if it would be a suitable replacement.

Clive.

I also had the Full Maintenance service by the local Porsche dealer in October 2016 and when I got home I thought I would just check the battery level out of interest, and again they must have also missed mine as I also had to add 1/2 litre of distilled water. So suggest based on tscaptain and my experience it would be wise to all check your batteries ?
