Anyone fancy a coffee and a chat on Sat morning at the Cat and Fiddle Inn (or elsewhere)?

I’m up for that. Think we can have up to six. I can ask a few others too.

Bonus points if the drive ends with a bacon sandwich.

Nice one Oli, be good to meet up although matching cars is a bit iffy :ROFLMAO: I'm not planning on any kind of convoy driving by the way, I'm just proposing a meet up for a brew and a chat.

Shout up if you've got a better idea for location and/or time!

Thanks for the offer, and I would have enjoyed it, but I'll be on my way north on holiday (escaping to Northumberland for a self catering week). Maybe next time...

Morning all [:D]

I'm at a loose end on Saturday morning and I'm planning on heading out for a lazy drive past the Cat and Fiddle Inn, where I'll probably grab a coffee from their new take out shop. If anyone local is around (OliR? Erica D?) and fancies meeting up for a quick hello let me know. I'm thinking of getting there around 11am-ish.

I don't think they have toilet facilities there, so if anyone does want to meet up and has a better suggestion I'm all ears...

-Dave

Is there a sort of Highlander thing that I'm not aware of? [:D]

I don't mind, but I nipped to the Cat and Fiddle at lunch and could only get a coffee, no bacon (or food, really).

Great idea and I would usually love to join you but unfortunately I am required by the management to source a new downstairs WC and wash basin this weekend....

Do please let me know if you decide to do this again on another occasion.

That's a shame Martin, are you sure you can't pop over for a coffee then call at Opulenza on the way home? :p

Sadly working otherwise I’d have happily joined you, maybe next time. Dan.

Nice one [:D]

For anyone that can’t make it, and those that can how about meeting up the following Sunday 2nd May or god forbid even the bank holiday Monday (busy though it will be... might have to be early?). I’d happily plan a bit of a drive if anyone wants that... or equally happy to meet for a drink and admire the view ( and the other cars of course)!

Anyone up for that? Dave? Dan?

I'm happy to switch a meet to Sunday 2nd if more folks are around?

And if you still want to meet up on Saturday Oli I'm happy to do that as well...

May be able to do the 2nd but I'm on standby with work. Should be able to let you know closer to the time.

I'm easy, was going to suggest you switch it to next weekend but I don't mind this one either! (or both, let's face it if the weathers nice I'll be out putting miles on it!)

Right, let's switch it to the 2nd then [:D] So that's Twinfan, OliR, Erica D and possibly Scrounger.

Time and place?

That's great - so the 2nd it is. Up to you regarding location - I can do the cat and fiddle, or the Barrel in Bretton (lovely view - do food from 12.00 http://www.thebarrelinn.co.uk/) or if you'd prefer Ladybower reservoir...and I don't mind the time. Morning is probably better as less people around? I don't mind travelling further afield either - the drive will be good wherever it is.

The Barrel in Bretton looks great - how about we go for that?

Are they open for drinks from 11am? I thinking we could meet there for a drink and book a table for 12pm so if anyone wants to stay for lunch they could? Mrs Twinfan may come along if there's a potential lunch on the cards...

I've just spoken with the Barrel, they'll be setting up- so will be open for drinks at 11.00 - and I've provisionally booked at table for 6 (?) for lunch at 12.00, as I know how busy it gets and its better to have more seats than less! So I'll see you there with Mrs Dave then....and anyone else...please just let me know as I can add more (or reduce the number) as necessary.
