Anyone had Porsche recall AK03

Hi,

Sent my car details off to the Porsche Byfleet recall email address

They came back fairly quickly to say there is one outstanding recall on the vehicle.  A fuel pipe replacement.  They refer to the recall as AK03 and have said parts are still available and I just need to book it in. It's not the fuel lines from petrol tank but a pipe in the engine bay somewhere.  Has anyone had this done?

Anyway, not bad service from Porsche considering it's a 24 year old car!

I didn't even know this service existed. What details do you need to send to that address to get the recall status checked?

Presumably this one

Presumably the VIN is sufficient. That's what I've just sent them anyway.

I suspect other OPCs will also do this... poor old Porsche Byfleet will wonder what has hit them if they start getting emails from all over the country! [;)]

Yes it is the short fuel pipe at the front end of the fuel rail, my 220 has had it done, but the later 250 did not require it as the part had been upgraded by then (MY88) it will be done FOC by the dealer if required, in the meantime carry a fire extinguisher [;)]

All Porsche Centres do this,my 944s have had a few recalls the biggest recall recently for me was a large steering part change on our 1990 C4 all done FOC.
One of the benefits of an official Centre, like you say amazing backup on such old Vehicles...

My 2.7 (1989) had this pipe split and the fuel did spew directly on to the exhaust, so not sure which years are affected.

Get it checked - I was VERY lucky!

I had thsi pipe split on mine as well... I got a smell of fuel and thought it was strange .. Opened up the bonnet and the pipe was leaking... !

I took teh pipe to Agnews in Belfast to get a replacement. Johnny the partsman took a look at it and according to the number it indeed was the older recalled part ! Johnny gave me a new pipe free of charge. I wasnt even aware it was a recall item....!

I think this recall was in '91 but Agnews stood by it... I was really impressed with both Johnnys attention to detail amd Agnews for standing by the recall !

On another note about 6 or so years ago I got a rocker cover gasket off them which was incorrect.. They sent someone down from Belfast with the right one to Donegal to my place 90miles away ! I rang up in the morning and I had it at dinnertime... That is superb service... I told them it aws fine and to post it but they couriered it down Agnews are really a top top crowd ! [:D]
