Anyone heading for the festival from Yorkshire?

the saturday morning convoy.... will you be stopping for a rest/break around the midlands? maybe i and my three car rolling road block(joking) could meet up with you ?

I've sent a message to Graham & David to the following effect.

We are meeting Graham at the Kestrel carpark, Wetherby road Harrogate at 10.15am on Saturday morning then running down to Ferrybridge services to meet David at 11.00.

We can then head down the A1 or M62-M1.[:D]

If anyone else wants to join us for the drive down they can meet us at either of those places (probably be a good idea to post here so we can look out for you!).

Helen, we could arrange a stop in the Midlands to meet with you & any more that might like to tag on. Where & when do you suggest bearing in mind a Ferrybridge start at probably 11.15ish.[;)]

Come on guys , someone must be going friday to join the ''Gmund cruise to the Hatch '' surely... meeting at gmundcars at 12.00 mid-day this FRIDAY !! Hope to see some faces there !!!..[;)]

Hi Doug, Graham, David and Helen

We are also going down Saturday late morning.

I suggest best route is via M1.

Suggest any Midlands members interested in a convoy run down meet at Leicester Forest East Services (South) at around 12.00 to 12.30. Does that seem OK

Happy motoring - Randolph Coward

Doug, if we're all going down the M1 it would be easier if I meet you and Graham at Woolley Edge services, M1 just south of J39 at Wakefield, this would also mean its easier for you and Graham if you don't have to go via Ferrybridge as you can go down the newish A1/M1 link.
About the same time should be OK.
Please post if this is OK, as well as anybody else who was thinking of meeting at Ferrybridge.
From there its an easy good hour and a bit to Leicester Forest.

David & Randolph that sounds fine, [;)] so just to sum up so far:

We'll be at Woolley Edge Services MI (south) at about 11:00am.

Then Leicester Forest East Services (South) at around 12.30ish.

Anyone else thinking of turning up, these replace Ferrybridge of course [:)]

Randolph, not sure where you live, do you wan't to meet Graham & I in Harrogate or
are you heading for Wooley Edge?

Cheers

Doug

Hi Doug-

I live in Derbyshire and will meet you at Leicester Forest East Services.

All,
Just bought one of those AA road books with cameras marked on and it seems there is one on the A20 just to the north of Brands Hatch. Exactly where and on which side of the road is anybody's guess. Must remember to update snoopers database before I leave.

Hi all

From my experience last year, we're actually going to be the ducks in a shoot. I counted at least five mobile camera vans over the three days I was down there and they are really sneaky - parking so as to be partially obscured by bushes, etc. It seems the Kent constabulary likes the easy money!

Regards,

Whoever's got the best radar detector......(oops I mean accident blackspot warning device) can lead [;)]

Presumably they will site the cameras at areas with pedestrians around, before playing fields etc....you know
the kind of places where only an idiot would speed. []

I'm sure they won't put them on a straight piece of country road, with no junctions or dangers......you know......the kind of place that's safe to overtake........would they? [;)][:D][:D]

That would be sneaky!

Thats how they got me, 73mph in the middle of nowhere, a mile long straight, nothing in sight, except a small camera on a small tripod on the grass verge!!!

Curse those grassy Knolls!
Thats how they got Kennedy [:D] and he wasn't speeding. Mind you hanging out of the car and waveing at people is going to attract attention!

Regards,

Neil & Lizzie

Hi all Lazza and i will make our own way to Brands tomorrow we have been let down by our daughter who was ment to be driving my 944 so we will now (with huge thanks to Brian James Trailers for the loan)be taking the 912 on a trailer behind the Cayenne with me following in my 944....so max speed of 65mph all the way. We thought you guys might be a bit frustrated being stuck at that pace all the way.
dare say you'll pass us on the motorway..give us a wave[8D]
