Anyone know this Car?

Johnny Euro boy is your buyer ... even Mr Smitzer will cash you out and retail it .... don't be hard on yourself it's a RS yes Mobile .de .... cheap as Belgium frites ..... [:D]

ORIGINAL: SamT Would get more for it if I was prepaired to lie about the repairs but morally cannot do it.
Morality? While selling a car? I wonder if that'll ever catch on...... [8|] Nice to see someone being honest. Sounds like a bargain for someone, particularly with all the work that's been done to the mechanicals. Best of luck on the sale, Sam.

Hardly a 993 RS owner here that's not had a scrape ........ retail it for 85000 Euro thru Tomas .... [:)] OR www.speedservice.nl

Jason did stick up for me that is true. I could not mention how I feel about the person I bought my car from but I guess most people have sussed what kind of person he is from his antics on Pistonheads. Anyway Jason my car would look good parked in your garage !!

Stop it! Just stop it! Fortunately or unfortunately I have my eye on something else but need to raise the dough for that first, but when I saw it this morning I did think hmmmmmmmmm.....[&o] Having had a couple of 993 in red I do like them and the prospect of having an RS that you could thrash about knowing whatever you do to it is unlikely to have an effect on its future value (unlike all original panel and paint cars that once you have a knock you can kiss goodbye to some value...if your honest[;)] ) I think the market is quite flat at the moment, recession still hanging around just about everywhere and the buyers that are still out there in the UK are as picky as hell usually, but lets face it a 993RS that has this much spent on the mechanics with the Fearnsport guys is not going to come up again at this sort of price for a long time....if ever[:)]

Seriously, unless you need the cash immediately, your best route to market would be Olav Speedservice (mention my name) the car will be honestly brokered in Europe where the Pound now has parity .... so I rest my case ... Olav by the way is a really great guy and very trustworthy .... [:)]

Jason i was just pointing out that two virtually identical Taysom cars exist. So it could have been one or the other of them. I inspected(briefly) one of them at a well known now defunct specialist in Yorkshire. Not this car i might add. I would love that picture Johnny ?

I agree, at this age almost every car has a story. It's all in the quality of the work, and ask yourself a question ... What is the likely provenance of a shell that has been converted into a 993RS lookalike, and what would be the asking price ? This car is a real 993RS ... with an honest seller ... Good luck with your sale and I hope you find an honest buyer ... I track all my cars (and look after them impeccably), but unfortunately I already have a RHD 993RS [:)] --- so not for me ---

But Chris surely you NEED a LHD 993RS to make your collection complete !

ORIGINAL: Laurence Gibbs There was more than one guards red 993RS ex Taysom car!

Thank you to the person who pointed to this thread, I don't read up on these anymore - they're too quick for me! Thought I'd offer some comments and see if they help anyone: I have been very lucky to have owned nearly / over 10 993RS's over the years (I can't remember anymore!), two of which were indeed Indian / Guards red. The first I bought from Josh at Autofarm, standard spoilers and half matter cage, and loved every single mile I drove in it. Had a low speed on track bump and it was repaired - don't know where it's gone to but it was a lovely and well sorted car. Second red one was the car in the original post / advert. Aero kit and full cage in red. - I sold it for £30's (can't remember exactly) five years ago and have only seen it once, about three months ago coming off the M1 onto the A43 - it looked wonderful :) It was a very special and very quick car. To put this into context I've also been very lucky to have owned five M472 2.7RS's - and still own my two owner 60,000 mile one. One of the earlier 73 RS's I owned turned out to have been heavily damaged in 1976 then repaired. It was restored over the past few years and didn't stop it from being sold for "in excess" of £180,000 at the end of last year, five years after I sold it for £50's! (believe it went to New Zealand or Aus). With the passage of time the relevance and importance of previous accidents reduces - probably proportional to the increase in the value of the cars and the reducing number that are left behind to be driven! What matters is how the car is when it's purchased and how you use it. If you want a garage queen, as has been said elsewhere here, don't buy an RS! Philip

You can still find garage queen RSs - I know of a yellow non-CS version with CS spoilers with <10000KM. Not for sale though.

True - but like 2.7RS's there's not many - [:D] I've lost track of where my beautiful old RHD 993RS went - silver, N911 GWU - unusual in that the first owner (who I bought it from) specified a comfort seat (standard 993 road car 'sports' seat / hard back) and a bucket for the driver's side as his (then) wife wouldn't sit in the bucket! Truly a perfect car with 20,000 ish when I sold it (from memory) - the first owner had been such a long standing customer of Porsche that when the Speedlines started to corrode around the bolt holes, they replaced them all FOC - in 2003 nearly eight years on! I sold it to Philip Basil - I know he sold it last year - not sure where it went to. Philip

Well it has to be better than money in the bank and perhaps the owners have not interest in driving or Porsche cars - until they want to sell them[;)]

Agree better than money in bank. It has outperformed my pension! Not sure how regularly the current owner drives the car.
