i didn’t realise they did 16v heads,.... yea deffinately would have breathed that much more air in being double the valves.

why did you get rid of it , or was it stolen or damaged ? or just like me regret getting rid of allot of nice cars over the years chasing something else
It was never stolen, though there were a couple of attempts. I sold it in 2003, basically because I got a bit bored with it. And I was moving to a better house. It always got a lot of attention, accelerated fast and went straight up to 150, many, many times [:)]. But the gearbox and engine needed rebuilding, and someone offered me what they were making back then. I bought my 944 for the money I got for the Cos, and it is a better car. But obviously now Fords make silly money.

yea i was never a fan of them when i was younger but now i would love quite a few fords. i like there engines allot and most of my friends that were true petrol heads when i was about 18 were all into the fiesta xr2s with straight through cherry bomb exhuast sand pepperpot alloys,... and there was me in my bright white porsche 944 lux with full cream leather interia :ROFLMAO: everyone thought i was a rich boy , i wasn’t but i did have allot of money to burn back in those days though as i grafted my nuts off 6 days a week but partied hard too. ahh the days of no bills!!! must admit , my 1986 944 lux back then felt fast as compared to the xr2s and felt like i was driving a rolls roys when i had a go of there’s! obviously always had a thing for porsches and i’ve had a fair few nice cars but i always say my 944 turbo is speacial , i just love pretty much everything about it,...
well apart from no room for a bigger turbo and stuff like that !..[8|]

[:D] I've lost count of the RS Escorts and V6 Capris I owned back in the day. Then one of my good mates remortgaged his house and bought a 87 Cosworth. I was running a Capri injection turbo at the time, and came into some money. So I had to buy a Cos too. No speed cameras, unmarked traffic cars, eye in the sky etc. It was like cannonball run every day. [:D]

now capris i’ve always loved ! as my dad had about 6 becuase my mum kept writing them off . never forget he paid a top racing machanic that i still know to put some kind of a lotus engine in one of them. god knows which one? but it was quick!

and yes i remember those glorious days of no poxy speed hunps iether! ( i know there good for kids and all that) but i remmwber dad driving past the local police station which is now a 30mph and we used to do 100mph becuase he just didn’t care in those days and it didn’t seem like such a bad thing to do. it was like you’d only get a few points or fine but now they prob have your licence

and there were no bloody speed cameras back then only the hand held ones that american cops use to use in the movies :ROFLMAO: great days

one of my favourite cars my dad had was a vauxhall chevett ( don’t k ow how to spell it) i think this is what there called - the ones where the front headlights was inside a deep square set back almost into the car. it was so quick, dad was always getting that race machanic to mod it when i was a kid, it was always about top speed. i remember we used to fly past that same police station doung 100 in that too!

good old days when life was simpler and people would appreciate things more! ahh

Nothing new about fitting Holsets to 944's, they work very well....the Scandi's have been doing it for years and a few in the US even before Emmanuel. Twin scroll is a lot of work but you know that already, the biggest issue will be space. Good luck with that....the single scroll is more or less bolt on with a kkk replica turbine housing machined to fit the wheel.
Tim used a Garret Stage 5 turbo on his 16v build. It dwarfs the HX35 and is not really a comparable turbo. Probably closer to the HX40. Worked well on Tims car but that was a 3.0 16v if I remember correctly.
If I was going to all that trouble to fit the twin scroll setup I would probably go for an EFR turbo.
Good luck with the fab work!

cheers Nick,
good to hear. it’s already going really well . and i’m onto the fabrication of the twin scroll around the turbo intake from the engines down pipe.

yes this was always gonna be a royal pain in the A@@@ but i think i’m winning. had to make everything custom made and oil lines all went perfect , the exuast twist and turns getting out of literally hardly zero room , is the hardest part.

put it this way i had to totally reshape the dipstick and relocate it where it always should have been and that’s at the very back of the engine keeping the oil cap company[:)]
i will update with photos when i get some time

still got pipes and all sorts of materials coming i for the build so gathering allot of stainless and silicone parts at the minute ,..garage looks like a mini shop - and surprising how all this stuff ads up

Definitely interested to see photos. You must be a dab hand with the fab work....I can only imagine how tight it must be!

hi blade, funny you say this, yes it’s something i think is important and that i should include , so i’ll need x2 from the down pipes that split from x4 into the inlet of the turbo that make up the twin scroll , and i’d like to fit a 3” flex on the way out .

ive been pondering on this as the fab speed full systems don’t seem to have any? ...but i would prefere to put them in myself

what are your thoughts on it ?
