April weekend drive

ORIGINAL: Mark Bennett

So, lets get this straight?

10th April Treasure Hunt
16th April Sussex "Forum" drive

Is that right?
Some people are going to double thier monthly milage[;)]

Yep, that's correct. (although I can't personally make the drive on the 16th)

Phil

Guys

You missed a cracking treasure hunt! David Green did a superb job with some lovely driving roads and some clever clues in a part of Sussex we seldom visit. Weather was great and lunch at the castle worsth every penny of the £11 it cost!

Well done David!

I kept looking at the weather and thinking I was missing a great days driving []. Despite my best efforts the car's not going to be back on the road until Tuesday though.

Glad it went well, cheers .......... Phil

Apologies, but I can't make the 16th April Sussex "Forum" drive. I've sold my car. I was doing the route so someone else will need to take the lead

Hi all

Is the drive going ahead as planned as this will be my first trip.

I am still planning to turn up a 1pm and see who's about. Hopefully someone with leadership skills with a better sense of direction than me! (as we have lost our routemaster!)

Only five cars turned up this time (no routemaster!) My Red 911 SC Targa, another Red 911 3.2 Coupe, a Sand coloured 911 2.4 Coupe, a very interesting light blue rebuilt 911 2.4 Coupe and a very newly purchased Metallic Grey 2.7 Boxster (Anyone please correct me if I have mis-described your car!)[:D]

We went down to Beachy head again, as myself and my co pilot had been given the wonderful task of navigating with five minutes notice. No but seriously it was a good run in the sun, especially considering the on the hoof navigating.

Not quite such a fun ride back for me at least as I went a different way home due to my steering wheel comming loose!!! (Will be purchasing some thread lock!!!) Thought it best to avoid the main spirited drive home.[:(]

Dan, cheers for being the leader at short notice. I did enjoy the drive, as the route chosen allowed me to get to know my Boxster, which I hoped it would, especially with the tight and winding roads.

Regards
David

David,

Glad you enjoyed it, hope you didn't lose your hat on the way home![:D]

Hopefully the weather should get better and better over the coming months for some other interesting drives.

Dan.

No, although one side of the wind deflector did pop out which made me slow down.. Obviously couldn't cope with the speed!!!

It is my aim to come along to future drives, subject to availability, as after all that's what Porsches were made for....

David

Glad you had a good time. Now to start thinking about May...... - I'll post a new thread

David,

If it pops out then I'm afraid it isn't fitted correctly...
I have been top down at 150MPH on the Autobahn, no problems from the wind deflector.
You need to push down slightly whilst fitting each side in to the clip - then it will be secure.

Have fun with it![8D]

Hi all, I enjoyed the drive on Saturday hope to do it next month.
Hope you have fixed your car Dan,a little picture to remind you to fix the boot light.
