ARB's

Scott

if you've still got the 968 M030 rear ARB and it's not already been bagged, I'll gladly find a home for it ? I notice you're in Derby and pass they're regularly ?

Drop me an e-mail if its available: chrisgrahame@yahoo.co.uk

Hopefully see you at Donnington on April 24th ?

Quick query on the ESS stiffening brackets mentioned earlier in this post which I know a few others are using.

I found an hour or so this afternoon to take a quick recce under the car before I fit the stiffening brackets i've got from ESS when I find a spare couple of hours. They didn't look like they fitted properly. I couldn't get the two ARB bush bracked bolts to like up with the two holes in the bracket when the other end of the bracket was in situ against the big bolt in the main sub-frame.

Is this because I had the car jacked up from one side which meant the twisted ARB would be pulling on the bracket just enough to distort it? Did anyone running these brackets find they needed a bit of coaxing when fitting?? Do they need to be fitted with the front end up completely rather than just jacked up from one side??

I didn't have any trouble fixing them at all......because I got someone else to do if for me [:D].

I would assume that you do need to keep the ARB unloaded; which, as you suggest, means you either have to jack up both sides, neither side, or put both front wheels on ramps.

You need to jack up the entire front of the car.

I tried to replace my ARB end bush with only one side lifted and I just couldnt get it lined up because the ARB was under tension. With both wheels off the ground it was easy.

Oh well i'll never know now!! Yet again time is of the essence and with me decorating the bedroom this weekend and needing the car next week I simply can't find half a day or so to get under the car to fit the brackets and replace my slave clutch cylinder which is now pi$$ing fluid all over the exhaust and requires topping up for every journey. An hour or so's labour at my local Porsche specialist should see everything honky dory.
