Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

i am sure the 981 Spyder will in time fall below the price of the 987/2 Spyder. that will then show the 987/2 Spyder to be a true classic that it is and always will be

Best hold on to mine then .TBO if years down the line get my money back on both will be very happy happy

Not completely accurate where Porsche are concerned:-

1989 911 Speedster today £190k rrp for the very best low mileage examples

1993 911 Speedster 2 today £190k -£220k rrp for the very best low mileage examples

2011 911 Speedster 3 today £275-300k rrp for the very best low mileage examples

Had a great dry sunny weekend bonding with my 3.8L GTS and the only downside I can find is the steering is lighter than I like and the brakes are quite grabby and need a light touch I think over servo is the description but they do feel seriously powerful

The rest of the car is a definite step forward IMO over the much prettier original Spyder and fitting a n/a 911 engine into a Boxster in decades to come will be the end of an era sweet spot for future collectors IMO

great news you love it ;-) it looks great in VooDoo

EVERY thing else is a step forward though ! 20"wheels a step forward ? longer gearing a step forward (due to wheels) fake over run a step forward, the roof , a step forward !

wider car a step forward, less mpg a step forward, bigger Tax a step forward, more weight a step forward !! PTV , EPS, brake feel, I could go on ;-)

I think most things are a step backwards ! or sideways as you cannot compare the 987.2 car vs the 981 car imo they are cars in their own right.

both great cars but as long as people want to compare the new VS old and claim every thing is a step foward, imo the new car is a step backwards for a purer car.

I always compare my 987.2 car to an big Elise, the 981 feels nothing like a big Elise and that for some might be great and just what they are after, for me being a Lotus lover, but hate the build, engine gear change etc the 987.2 car is the closest thing Porsche have ever made to an Elise imo.

Ideal world own both :) some people think I am crazy for the 3 cars I run atm, but all have a place depending how I am feeling.

981 is a great car, the 987.2 is a great car but compare them both, not possible, I cannot compare my GT4 to my R they are nothing like the same drive.

have fun in what ever Spyders you own it's going to be a nice summer ;-)

How have you come to that conclusion?
