Are we really the poor relations II.....?

I didn't deserve the hammering/lectures I got for starting the first thread of this title [8|]. As of today, at Rownhams Services on
the M27, my original sentiments were totally JUSTIFIED []!!!!! and I have quite a few members of this forum section to back
me up [;)]!! Enough said. I rest my case.....[8|].

You really gotta add a bit more to this thread.... For example, what are you talking about?

To tell you the truth, I really can't be bothered [8|]. I don't really know why I started this thread, I guess just to prove my point
or, just to say "Up Yours" to my detractors! It would be nice if one or two of the other members of our Rownhams Service's
convoy group would take up the very brief story of the unsavoury little 911 incident that took place whilst we were getting ready
to leave the parking area. I don't want to start another war, just wanted to say "told you so"! I'm not going to say another word
on the subject except.....manners cost nothing []!!

ignore them Pete... most have no idea of what they've talking about and the others are only upset because they bought the wrong model... rise above it and enjoy your superior from of transport..:)

Pete

Oh absolutely Pete'! It was just that we all stood there in a state of semi shock, with me saying "Look! Look! I told you so"!!).
And then we all fell about laughing [:D][:D][:D]!!! We didn't dwell on it mate, it was actually quite funny but also, quite sad [:(]
[;)][:D].

Not this again!! In my experience 99.9% of Porsche owners respect ALL Porsches and those who drive them.

You didn't have to edit your post Andrew [8|], there is actually NO chip to get rid of. We just found it amazing that, around
sixteen 911's drove past us from three feet away and, not one of them even looked at us and, this was in a car park with them
in convoy travelling at around ten mph [8|]!

Spent a great day at the Heritage Rally, marshalled by the Porsche Club regulars.

All but one of us were transaxle car owners, and as usual all the banter was about the transaxle cars, or the very early 911s. Plus a bit about early Boxsters being a steal at the moment.

Not a single comment that wasn't positive. I just don't see this at any of the events I go to.

All the negative remarks I hear are about the "unreliable" water-cooled 911s. I think the 996/997 Registers are the ones who should be complaining, not us!

Pete, I was told by a friend of my Mum's that I had a lovely Rover. Did I get upset that my 944 was mistaken for a Rover? No. One idiot isn't worth worrying about!

Get yourself to the events where the cars are appreciated. Even the worst cars on the rally today had nothing but good words spoken about them, including the most bizarre Rover P5 converted to a camper van!

Pictures or it never happened!! Are you sure you've not been drinking? [:D]

Best car my Dad ever had - P5B coupe in royal blue. The smell of the leather interior will stay with me forever!

Paul, I'm not worried mate, and it wasn't one Idiot.....It was twenty of them [:D]!! All I'm saying is, it wasn't just me standing
there witnessing it, it was several of your mates as well [;)]...[:D]! As I said earlier Paul, I can't be bothered to say any more on
the subject. Just glad others saw it and, it hasn't just been a figment of my imagination for the past six months [8|].

Iv'e given it all up Rob, in my quest to lose six stone [:D]!

Maybe all of the 0.1% of idiots were all in one place at one time [:D].

Just never seen it happen in my 8 years of ownership.

Paul, forgive me - it's real!!!

"Interesting" concept...

Ignorance can also be bliss to many owners ;).

We 944 owners really shouldn't be offended when ignored by 911 owners, particularly newer models. I suspect the sad fact is that they don't recognize their own family - probably have to look for the badges on boxsters and caymens for that matter.

Here, here... and may I add, try and educate as many people as you can (as I do) why the transaxle cars are so good.
They certainly don't make water cooled like they used to!

I suspect the sad fact is that they don't recognise their own family - probably have to look for the badges on boxsters and caymans for that matter.

I suspect most of them are just looking for the badge anyway[;)].

I don't need any accolade from anyone to help me appreciate and enjoy my car. It's a selfish hobby to begin with, so why even bother what other people think, especially people who don't have a clue? Ignore them.

Not sure if you are calling me "ignorant" [>:] or referring to the lack of knowledge some 911 owners may have of the delights of the 944/968?[:)]

All Porsches are works of genius - some misguided Porsche owners may just not realise that though I have not come across that mindset - it's their loss!
