Aston Martin Workshop Visit

Hi Chaps

i'm just trying to gauge interest in whether you'd like to do this again? It seemed to go down quite well last night at the meeting.

i don't know if they would be willing to do another tour/open house but i am happy to ask and try to arrange it for say one night in May?

The Black Horse next door where we ate last time has re-opened and is seriously bigger, but the reputation for the food is still good, so we could organise a block booking again if there was enough interest.

If its not too soon after the last one drop a line on here and we'll take it from there

Cheers
Julie

Yes that should be fine,

I'll wait a week and see what interest I get and then I'll approach Bob if its feasible and see if he would be willing to do it again.

As this seems to have been well accepted I have been down there today and agreed with John the workshop manager that they will open up for us on Wed 12th May from 6 to 7.30 pm

I have given them rough numbers of 30 attending so unless I hear otherwise from them the people who have already posted here will have 2 places each. This takes us up to 10

When we have a better idea of who wants to come if there are still spaces we can open it up to other guests.

I also need to know who would like to eat at the Black Horse next door after the tour please? This is so I can book the restaurant. For anyone who would like to look at the menu first it can be found on http://www.blackhorsebeamish.co.uk.
Their special menu for Wednesday is below and this finishes at 6 but if enough people are interested i could try to get them to extend this for us until we arrive?

WEDNESDAY
TO START
Chicken Livers
Pan-fried chicken livers with crisp pancetta and stilton dressing
Ravioli
Parsley and potato ravioli with sage butter Noisette
MAIN
Steak
Tender rump steak with thyme red wine and caramelised onion sauce with sautéed cabbage and braised potatoes
Pork
Roast loin of pork served with homemade sage and onion stuffing roast gravy and apple sauce
DESSERT
Baked vanilla cheesecake with chocolate ice cream
2 Courses for £8.95
3 Courses for £11.50

so please can you let me know
a) if you want to come to tour and pub or just tour
b) would you prefer set menu (if i can negotiate this) or a la carte.

Cheers
Julie

Julie,
Would you be willing to accept visitors from other regions? I'd be very interested in driving down from Scotland for it if you are likely not to be over subscribed.
Mark

Hi Julie
Where would this event take place? Sounds interesting but live South of York. If not too far North then might have a run out. Cheers. John

Hi Mark, John and Jane

I don't see why we shouldn't accept other regions but I do think we need to give our own a chance to respond. so happy to put you on a reserve list for a week and then if we still have places left you would be more than welcome.

John if you look at the website i have posted earler for the Black Horse there are directions there. It is near Beamish Museum in Stanley.

Simon is it just one place for you?

From the responses so far it looks as though you're all happy to go with the a la carte menu?

Cheers
Julie

Hi Mark

I'm sure there will be space, as unless i am inundated we can always squeeze in a couple more and it would be really good to have some inter region activity!

Cheers
Julie

Julie - have you got 2 places left for june and me - for visit and meal.
I presume this event will replace the normal club night which is due on that day ?

Chris
