Away Day to Holy Island

Heatwave?
It is snowing, again, at the moment.
Don't know if this is spring or winter back again.
Just pack the thermals

Looking at the BBC weather, it is going to rain until about 10.00am and then be dry on the afternoon. However, I take what the BBC weather says with a very large pinch of salt. They are wrong more times then they are right.

Do I buff my wheels, that is the question?

I'll be checking those wheels tomorrow Mark - so get buffing! its 10am Saturday in Richmond and nice and sunny , ideal weather for buffing.

No buffing here! Petrol in tank, air in tyres, money in Fordys back pocket, I'd say we are all set for a grand day out!

Just got in ready to buff up the wheels, tyres and go and fill the tank, but started to rain. Ah well, looks like its the housework then until the rain stops and the roads dry. I'm not holding my breath!

Doing an early recon on Moorhouse Farm Shop on way up.
Have to report that scones too hard to resist.

Just to say another cracking day out with the club. Big thank you to Chris and Pat for organising, superb food, great company and surroundings. Oh, and the coffee was superb as well, still buzzing[:)] .

Car put away and dried off to a point. Off to watch the F1.

See you all next week.

Thanks to Pat & Chris for such a fabulous day out! Rain stopped as we pulled onto drive so one soggy car in garage, didn't stop the fun though, see you next week at Newby Hall.

Big thanks must go to Pat & Chris. Fantastic May Day trip. Pleased to see so many new and old members turn out regardless of what the weather man had to say, and yet it remained dry for most of the day. The Porsche gods where certainly smiling on R3 today. Great location, lovely food and a brisk walk to shed it all again. A superb event organised by two equally fantastic club members well done. The hours you spent pouring over tide tables was well worth it, thank you for your efforts. Hope you enjoy a glass or two of your Lindisfarne Mead toffee liqueur tonight.
Apparently Lindisfarne attracts over 650,000 visitors a year. I suspect, judging by the comments and crowds around our cars, that the biggest attraction for the visitors today was the Porsche display at the Lindisfarne Mead shop. [;)]

Excellent day out with R3 friends. Many thanks Chris and Pat for all your organising. Like Mark now watching F1.
See you at Newby Hall next sunday
Les and Alison

Really enjoyable day out yesterday and made by all R3 members, thanks also to Chris & Pat for organising trip, super job, your Boxter looked excellent yesterday too despite the rain . Our 996 purred along nicely, big cleaning job ahead. Look forward to Newby Hall next week, new folding chairs at the ready. Les - sorry about your lack of chips Fella - all down to Karen!
