Awkwardness of a simple task challenge.....

Ha ha! I'm refitting my DPW tomorrow and have 2 new crush rings for either side. Might leave them alone!

Fitted. Left alone. Take them back for a refund! Did change the exhaust crush ring which was in 6 bits held together by exhaust paste, wasn't leaking though! Anyway all good now and no more WG games for a bit hopefully!

I've got one for the S2... Re-fitting the oil cooler pipers to the cooler after an oil change (I was changing oil type & weight, so was trying to get as much out as possible)
It must have taken me 20 minutes to wrestle it into position - what a daft design!

Ha ha yes it is equally as bone on a Turbo. How about changing the ICV without removing the entire intake manifold......oh wait you can’t.

Oh and I just thought refitting the heat shield on the oil filter housing without removing the entire engine ????

The design is different on the S2 - which uses a single screw to fix the 2 hoses, whereas the turbo (from memory) has two separate screw on hose fittings.

Hard to explain but - one of the two s2 hoses has a metal plate on it, which slides onto the other hose & presses against the flange on the hose end. (It only fits in one orientation as the flange has a flat side that has to marry up) The single screw goes through the middle of the plate into the cooler & secures both hoses

No ones mentioned digging out the crank sensors or removing the AOS on a turbo......great fun :ROFLMAO: and a tip on exhaust crush seals, when putting in new ones place them joint out, if needed to come out a screwdriver blade can be hammered in to the joint to prise out the ring.

Haven't had to replace crush seals yet, reckon I'd try stainless welding wire in the groove underneath to make used ones stand out a bit.
