I have a DV-30 in mine, one of the many trinkets applied by the enthusiastic but slightly misguided previous owner of my car. I've never used the standard Bosch part so I can't compare but I've no complaints about the quality of the one in mine. It has a nylon piston rather than a diaphagm so it's more robust by design, regardless of build quality.
I feel compelled to back up that last statement with some kind of evidence of my ability to judge so I'll just tag on that I spent two years at Coventry learning automotive & mechanical engineering (note: I'm not a great mechanic but I know what stuff should & shouldn't do).
Sod it I'm in the mood so I'll add another:
My Dad died on the 13th, I was in hospital with him, I had the 'big' chat with the docs & had them switch off the machine because there was no point postponing the inevitable (it's what he would have wanted). The funeral was on Tuesday (27th). Drove the family there in my Dad's car, carried the coffin in from the Hearse, stood tall & proud and did my duty in front of the family & friends out of respect for my Dad. Never really got on with him, our opinions differed in many areas but we each learned not to tread on the others toes & everyone around us had enough good grace not to rock the boat.
On Wednesday I planned to take my car down to Promax for a second opinion on some overheating issues, basically it was an excuse to get away from the family for a few hours for some blokey fun but on Tuesday night I came down with this bloody flu everyone seems to have at the moment, and come Wednesday morning rather than getting up at the crack of dawn to drive 90 miles to Promax I waited in & gave them a call at 8:30 (when I figured they'd be open) to let them know I wouldn't be able to make it & to un-book the courtesy car they'd booked for me.
Before I had the chance to cancel Andy asked when I'd be there because they had the Monaro waiting for me. Always had their silver Rover 600 before so I was expecting the same again but with the offer of a V8 muscle car suddenly I was feeling up to the trip & I was out the door by half past nine[

Trip down there in my car was nice & relaxed with the rain keeping the salt off the windscreen & the engine cool, in my slightly dazed state I just stuck to 60 in the inside lane down the M1 & let the world pass by, I didn't have the energy to enjoy Porsches' "make every single car in the outside lane wobble slightly then indicate left when they see it coming" motorway party piece but I was there by 11am, had a chocolate milk & a friendly chat with Andy & Roger while they sorted out Tam's 924 and was still just about standing without assistance when Andy gave me the keys to the Monaro. I don't know what they've done to it from standard but it sounds absolutely fantastic and the power is just incredible from (literally) tickover all the way through the rev range.
Too tired to do anything with the power even though I really, really wanted to plus it was wet and everything, I just tickled the throttle & let it burble & gently cough on the overrun to the M1, then stuck the cruise on at 70 & more or less fell asleep in it's massive leather armchair of a driver's seat.
It's sat outside my house right now, because I'm stuck at home with man-flu & haven't got the energy to go & bounce the exhause noise off every wall I can find in Derbyshire.
One of my Dad's few regrets is that he never had a go (as a passenger or driver) in my turbo; he couldn't fit in the sport seats and neither he nor I were prepared to make a big enough deal of it to fit another seat. He'd have fitted into the Monaro though, and he'd have absolutely loved it. Ironically had he not died I probably wouldn't have booked the car in at Promax this week, it was just an excuse to get out of the house really. Andy & Roger didn't know any of the background to this, a simple chat & coffee was all I was looking for but what their Monaro's done is remind me of some good times with my Dad at a time when I really needed it.
See, when you're nice, people are nice back. When you're bitter you just get withdrawn & die an early death. Probably[8D]
