Do you know which Bodyshop you are taking the car to - I think the only Approved one in Nottinghamshire is Selby's (just off the ringroad near Old Basford). If you're taking it here I'm surprised that they haven't offered you a courtesy car - I had a prang recently and as soon as I said my insurance wouldn't provide one because Selby's weren't on their list they promptly offered one. In fact they told me they had 38 cars out at the time - must have been the season for Porsche's to fall off the road [&:].

Just a word of caution with Selby's; whilst they seem to have done an excellent job, they do take their time about it, and they are funny with certain Insurance companies. They particularly don't like Liverpool Victoria because of a previous issue with payment and now have a policy that they don't release your car until they get their money (I've no idea how legal this is?). I'd check this with them before you go in if I were you, they only told me after they had started the work.

Because both drivers admitted liability, their insurers/employers agreed to pay up promptly, and no-one was injured. So I thought I'd organise it myself without claiming and thereby hurting my insurance record. After all, all I had to do was get a quote from the main dealer and give it to them instead of my insurer.

Ha. That worked.... not. Next time they can do the work themselves.

I had my rear bumper repaired last summer by a local chap who is located a mile down the road. He has done work for me previously and he did a great job. I need another front end respray and that's where I'll be going from now on.

Sorry - the thread has moved on a bit since your post but I was wondering where you took your car for the bumper repair? Somewhere near Stroud? I'm based in Cheltenham and I'm looking for a recommendation for some bodywork on my SC.
