Bare metal respray.

Baz,
Although this is going off the subject a little any chance of a brief description/pictures of how you did the washer bottle change/replacement?
Hope you don't mind.
Thanks
Ian

It still hasn't been done yet!
Why? you ask. Well just a few days before the car was due to go in I phoned the Guy just to make sure that he was indeed ready to start on my car.

He said that actually he wasn't quite, he still had the Aston to finish and an old MG so I said that I would call him in a weeks time.

He still wasn't ready.

There is absolutely no point in getting stressed up about it, I could have insisted that he take my car in and start right away and I'm sure he would have agreed to do just that, but realisticly my car would probably have been left outside untill he was ready!

So I said 'call me when you are ready then', but I'm still waiting!!
Oh well I'm still using the car and it still excites me when I drive it!

I would like it to be finished for the spring!!!

I'll keep you guys posted!

Glenn

Glenn,

Sorry to hear about your problems. Think you are wise not to push the issue because at the end of this exercise you should be expecting a pristine piece of work and the refinisher will be more likely to achieve that if he is allowed to work at his own pace.

However, not all refinsihers are the same and I can report that my exercise (bare metal refinishing) is proceeding to plan and my car is very happy with the company it is presently keeping, as the pic attached will (I hope) illustrate.

I will post a pic or to of the completed car (mid Nov 2005)

Patience - a virtue??

Looks like an original Testarossa to me....mmmmmmmmm...nice

Hope it's gong to be painted Rossa Corsa [;)]

Yes indeed. Right car and right colour, similar to the attached pic.

This refinisher works on a range of exceptional cars. Would you trust your concours refinish of a 1964 250GT Lusso to any bodyshop/painter?

Nup and neither would I. That's why the Supersport is there, enjoying the exotic company.

A bare metal refinish of this quality will make me a very happy bloke. I'll post a pic or two later this month.

Basil,

It still hasn't been done!! its a long long story but it's been re re re sheduled now for the 11th March.

Now I'm looking at the Shabby parts of the interior, looks like we'll be holidaying in Bognor this year!

I'll post my report on the new bare metal respray as soon as I get the car back.

Mike, Has the Testarossa been finished yet? Bet you can't wait to drive her!
