Base Cayman 982 2018 Turbo Replacement Required

You can just do it with a trolley Jack and axle stands you don’t need to remove the belly plates as you can get to the turbo and actuator through the cooling vents ……. Just.

Cayman collected yesterday from OPC Preston. 10 days off the road. New turbo fitted. Confirmed what's already been said on this thread. New turbo (as John said) has slightly different housing which should hopefully go someway to preventing recurrence. Two things came to mind: I'm pleased I extended my OPC warranty (£600+) as cost for the job ££££ and was impressed that during MOT OPC Preston conducted a diagnostic check without prompting that identified fault before I noticed it driving. Next time it's in OPC and relevant I'll ask them to conduct a health check on the actuator and turbo they've fitted.

Thanks to all for advice and views. All useful and information about our cars really does mean we're knowledgeable and can make informed decisions.
