Battery trickle charger / battery conditioner

I've got a CTEK MXS 5.0

Good unit, I like it. Not had to use it much, well, not had to use it at all really, I've just hooked it up every now and again, but I started using it on my two previous Hondas, as they were only used once a month, so I kept them trickling.

Might check my cig lighter and get one of the adapters to charge it that way.

I usually connect to the battery terminals/ earth point

I have used the Ctek 5 on both my 997.2 4s and now 997.2 Turbo. Both using the cig lighter which I found less hassle than onto the battery and it works a treat

Hi

the garage I keep my 997 in doesn’t have a power supply so I use a photovoltaic panel to trickle charge the car. The PV panel is about 1ftx2ft in size, mounted on the garage wall (externally - of course!) and wired to a controller inside the garage. The controller is to prevent the battery being damaged by overcharging. Wires from the controller are then connected directly to the battery terminals. The system works very well and, other than the initial investment for the equipment, is cost free to run
