BBC Top Gear left me an answerphone message today! [:)]

Can't wait to hear what they have planned - !

Finally that TV host job we've all been saying you deserve?!!

(Either that or they want a car to drop off a skyscraper or something)

Yeah come on stop keeping us in suspenders - are you the new stig ? or did they just dial the wrong number

It may be because of the email I sent on Pauls behalf re 30th Anniversary next year:

"I wonder if the gentlemen of Top Gear, Jeremy et al would be intrested to know that in Novemebr 2005 the Porsche 924 will be celebrating it's 30th Birthday. Our 924 register secretary, Paul Hedges put out a request for ideas on how to commemorate this. I could seriously see Top Gear doing a retrospective, and making it both interesting whilst also also apealling to Jeremy's ability to critcicse with few words. Of course the owners club would try to make all the 924 variants available, and from a personal point of view I think it would be fun to see Jeremy do a lap in the passenger seat of a 924 gts/r with the Stig at the wheel and then see if he still thinks it's a hairdresser's car.

If you think this would make a viable contribution to an edition of Top Gear I'm sure Paul would love to hear from yourselves.
Paul can be contacted direct at paul@hedges.org.uk and for your perusal I have included a link to his home page

What do you think?

Indeed Mr Nutter/John you may have planted the seed for this!

I really don't know yet exactly what they want to do, I received an answerphone message yesterday, and today I spoke with them and chatted about the 924 in general.

I did learn that it will be shown on the TV programme and will be an 'appreciation' of the 924. Two or more cars will be involved and they intend to keep them all in one piece! [;)]

I will be getting another call soon to get a clearer idea of what they want to do. Really exciting stuff, and there is usually a twist to features on the programme so I'm watching out for that :)

When I know more I'll post here [:)]

Yep keep us posted Paul - will be nice to see an older car on Top Gear instead of all the modern hairdressers cars eg Mini Cab, SLK, MX5 , Boxster etc [:D]

Sorry to put a dampner on things but they left me a messaage too. Did I want 2 tickets to participate in the audience for next series.
I just hope im wrong, because you all seem so excited about your anniversary.
[:(]

Why should that put a dampener on things Simon?

They need an audience for their shows.

You may be in the audience when the 924 is there [:)]

Well I hope I am. The 924 is a fab car as are all Porsches. Good luck with the Anniversary celebrations, I'm sure you'll have a great year[:)]

ORIGINAL: Helen Goff

im sure they'll be in touch once they've found a couple of Hairdressers to test drive them. [:D][:D][:D][:D][:D]

At least we wont get arrested by the style police for driving an offensive weapon:ROFLMAO:[sm=spanner4.gif]

It's been just over a month since I got the first call from Top Gear so I rang them back. They said things were still being worked on behind the scenes - I had apparently given them a few ideas to work with - so all being well the TV piece should still happen [:)]

keep cracking the whip Paul

hopfully the little 924 will finally have its say rather than the usual rubbish that put over by the mass media on the car.
