BBQ

Yes that was me in the Boxster and some bloke in a Mantis that has been following me around for years cant seem to shake him off. Must get more powerful car.

Well I did think "Damn Top Totty" when a saw you, but then was dazzled by the sheer yellowness of the Mantis.

And there I was all unshaven, in scruffy beach dude attire, with a car that wouldn't run. What sort of an impression does that create?

Just goes to show what a small world it is. I must remember to dress up the next time I go for petrol. [:)]

GWLS, have you fitted you speakers and are we to get a demo?

Yep jub done this weekend, look fab much improved sound (although my system was substantially better than standard due to another music nut owning the car before me)

This weekend the car goes to Sound Advice in Chigwell for a sound check as there is still an imbalance in power going through the fronts even when messing around with the fader... I suspect I may have to junk the amp the sub is running off and replace it with a six channel amp to run the sub and rears, and hopefully the porsche amp will suffice to run the doorcards and the dash (although the doorcard speakers aren't working at the moment, not sure if a wiring problem or they have been removed... either way they will be sorted this weekend)

11 speakers and all stealth running of a std deck... quality!

Martyn, suggest you tell the golf club there is going to be a very big turnout, hope they have lots of food.

John, yes it has got wet. I picked it up from the valet on Thursday just before the heavens opened up! At least I will have a chance to clean it properly myself before the BBQ!

okay the stupid question... my first meet.?

What time does it start? and where can I find address and directions? do i need to bring anything beyond the car and money?

Argh! Damned my senile brain forgetting to go or to sign in until after the event!

Was really looking forward to this - was it good? Will there be another BIG meet soon?

Blow![8D]

About 19:30 start at Regiment Way Golf Centre, opposite Channels Golf club on the A130 Essex Regiment Way just between Chelmsford and Gt Waltham. Easy to find as signposted from main road. Bring car and money I could do with some!

Jon,

Mod Update:

10 Speakers, two amps and a sub
Chrome Grill (although haven't decided if I am sold on it or not so might change it)
obligatory spoiler and wind deflector decal
Smarttop
Private plate (just waiting on the transfer coming through)

On tuesday... (so can't guarantee how clean the car will be as I'm coming straight from the workshop to the BBQ)

Janspeed Exhaust
B&M Short Shift Kit
MY03 Clear light pack

New Mats, 986 Badge(s) on order (to be painted artic silver) and when I get a chance I need to remove the quarter panel intake grills and spray artic silver

What's left.... (well the only thing I am desperate for is new wheels, 18" Sport Designs with Lapis Blue colour coded centres)

I might have to wait a while for the last one

Dawn

It's next Tuesday the 13th... your senile brain has played a horrible trick on you!! So hope we'll see you there

G

God, talk about an Essex Girl moment! I was thinking of a totally different 'do'. - the one at Hatfield OPC. We talked about it the karting event and if I remember rightly that was the first Tuesday of July. D'oh!

Right, barbie next week - Chelmsford. Got it!

BKE was misbehaving badly. He doesn't like ticking over when the air under the bonnet gets hot.

He does now, but then after a day on the rollers he damn well should. []

He doesn't sound like a tractor now either, hopefully the wastgate will stay where it is meant to be after three goes at getting it bolted up. [sm=spanner1.gif]

I hope to be there but it's my Birthday on the 14th so I may be intoxicated in a bar !

As expected I am being dragged ( against my will ! ) around Canary Wharf and the City to sample the delights of several new bars. I hope all goes well tonight and that someone takes a few picks to slap on the Forum !

Strewth! What a turn out. So many cars I didn't even get to count them. So many people I didn't feel I realy got to see anybody.

Well done Martyn what a super evening.

Great to meet some (so many) new people (how will I remember all the names - best insist they get Polo Shirts Martyn).

For those I didn't get to speak to, I'm sorry; and for those I spoke to but briefly I'm sorry.

i'm just sorry that I arrived so late... great event Martyn looking forward to the next meeting, I also back the idea to buy the shirts that way newbie's like myself won't cower in the corner... hope to meet you all next time.[&o]

Anybody who saw or heard for that matter the lapis blue boxster parked outside the front entrance to the club around 10.20pm that would have been mine... Joel was making some worthwhile adjustments to my amplifier. [:)] Thanks again Joel!!!!

When's the next event?[:D]
