Could someone please tell me which becker cd changers are compatible with the cdr22 headunit. I have noticed the cables for the changer are present in the boot of my C4s so hoping it will be a simple plug and play job. I have seen a couple of CDC4 changers on ebay sa hoping these are compatible.

You need a CDC-3. The CDC-4 is fibre optic, for CDR23 or PCM2.

I am told you can also use a Sony CDX-T65.

Edit: The Becker number is 2660.

Although the cables are present, they will need connecting at the head unit.

brilliant, thanks for that so the hunt is on. I take it special keys are need to slide the head unit out.....googling now

Really? I'm surprised.
They are normally connected on the Boxster, I assumed the same for 996 - you just need to enable the input on the head unit menu.
I use my cables for iPod input.

KG - You can get the Becker keys on eBay for a couple of quid.

Thirteeneast - Most UK were fitted with the CDC cable. Look for code M441 on the sticker. (Edit: That should include the mounting bracket)

Mark - You may well be correct. I just assumed that because it wasn't connected on my C2, perhaps they all weren't.

Chris - you are probably thinking of the post 2003 cars, with the MOST optical bus, which needs the CDC-4.

Yes - the sticker under the bonnet, or in the service book, should have 441 on it if it has the cable and bracket. If you have a C2 then it is easy enough to see the cable and bracket anyway. At the back of the luggage compartment, on the right as you look at it, just behind the spare wheel.

i have a multichanger for this head unit,it is a becker silverstone 2660 (6 disc),i had it fitted in my 986, no good to me now as i have a987,if you want it let me know as i did try selling it about two years ago via forum , if you want any more details let me know ( looking for about £90 pounds plus P+P)

G60KG all my e mails from forum go to my works e mail address,i will contact you thurs day time with home e mail address and contact number

Mine has got a sony mini-disc changer in the boot! Never used it and its not wired up... no idea what anyone would want one of those for.

If the cables are there, I would have thought the bracket would be too. On mine, the CDC was on the left hand side of the compartment (as you look at it), next to the brake servo. I guess there is a blanking cover if the changer isn't fitted, but it is easy enough to get the whole plastic cover off - just a few screws.

Ill have a good look tomorrow after work. Had the car professionally guard xd today and it looks brand new. Just gotta keep it clean now.

My becker 2660 changer arrived yesterday (thanks rich mich) Problem is if the head unit is switched off then on again at a later stage it will say loading..... and stays that way and will not play any cds. Only way (so far0 to get it to play from the changer is to eject the magazine and reload. Anyone know how to fix this? I have checked tthe adjustment arrows on either side of the changer and they are pointing up for vertical install so all should be right there.

EDIT: it wont select past disc 2 either so maybe its jamming.
