Best and worst owned cars?

ORIGINAL: Robert Edwards

Another worst car (although not mine, so it didn't really count) was the Sunbeam Tiger; only when I discovered that the floorpan was lifted directly from the Hillman Husky did the sheer awfulness of the thing make sense - otherwise it would have been a mystery as to why it was so reluctant to go around corners.

Is that why it makes such a good historic rally car that can beat the Escorts and (whisper it) the 911s as well?[]

Worst car - 95 Nissan sunny van ( Japanese reliability my arse ! )
John Daly.
Well you see you should have gone for the Toyota Hiace. My dad had one for years when I was growing up in Ireland in the 80's. The thing pounded 170K miles out on Donegal and Cavan roads and the only thing I ever remember going wrong was my Dad once had to replace the fan belt himself. ISTR rust got it in the end as every car in Donegal seems to either ends its life by rust or on its roof in a bog [those roads used to redefine the term bouncy].

First: a 1984 BMW 525i (E28) - that was a nice car in great nick, until my 'friend' trashed it in a moment of youthful naivety/stupidity on a wet road (taking out 6 other vehicles and making the front page of the B'ham Evening Mail in the process).

Worst: My only non-German, a Maxi.. Worst only by default, those things are surprisingly nippy and fun to drive. It came with about ½ a car of spares and only cost me £30 through local classifieds. I agree with Charles on the good points, plus the front and rear seats folded completely flat, making an excellent bed!

Best: My 944 Turbo, no question.
