My Wife had the Dark Red GT with all the Black stuff on an F Plate many years ago, in fact I found my pot of AutoGlym Bumper black I bought for it and used it on the 944 at the weekend!

I have Sapphire Metallic which I like but for the hopefully forthcoming restoration job I'm sorely tempted by Cobalt Blue Metallic - at least one guy on here has some great pics of this colour on his car.

EDIT: OOOOOOhhhh! Posted without reading the whole thread. Just seen the big blue thing above.
What is that Neil? I like it!

ok, I have now corrected my signature! Changing the subject, Wolfie can I ask how you got 222 bhp from your S2 with just a decat pipe?

Scotty - All I can tell you is that is what the 'computer said'. Readings were from the "Rollers of Truth" at Silverstone, and there were 20+ other 944's there on the day. I have the graph somewhere if you're interested, the exact figure was 221.9 IIRC. FWIW, the year before it achieved 206.4 and that was before the de-cat.

0 - 40 Oil and 99 RON petrol all helps as well.

Maybe someone else who was there would like to comment on the output from their car on a separate thread? My own view is the Dyno was reading a few % high on that ocassion

ISTR its very rare on Factory road cars but was one of the colours used. In the end I decided to go with Maritime as it was Kevin Eacocks suggestion. He had Lali's 968 in the workshop, I loved the look of that but my head kept saying a race car should be white. Then I went to the first PCGB race at Donny and every single one of the 964's seemed to be white, and many of the other cars as well. Overall I would have said that half the field had white cars, then Kev told me that the last 6 cars they have done all white. I have to say I am very happy with, it looks absolutely fantastic in the flesh and in many ways is a near perfect colour for a race car as its very heavy with pigment, hence you need less paint to cover the car. That shell has 5 litres of colour and 5 of etch primer on it, Kev paints em everywhere he can get the paint so unlike a factory shell it has a proper even coating of paint inside and out. If it was just the external surfaces I bet it would have been only a couple of litres of colour.

Good Luck with your build Neil I would be interested to see more of the progress as and when it moves forward
