Best colour for an S2

Lali
All youl need then is a big TANGO decal down the side....[;)][;)][;)]

It looks good on a 997 ,, but im not convinced about a 944.???? Different shape + all.....

Will you be getting the shell dipped to remove ALL the unwanted plastic bits.....?????

+ how many layers of pant are you putting on it.. DONT forget paint has a weight too....[;)][;)][;)],, the more paint the "slower" the car....If your going to those extremes....????[;)][;)][;)]

The chrome on that TaTa MPV makes a very ordinary vehicle look amazing.

My favourite is the chrome bikini though [8D]

I hear what you're saying Dave... there is a big risk in taking on any colour that hasnt been proved before... but I think some days you just have to stick your neck out a little.

I think Orange will be ok... I might get one of the designers at work to do some photoshopping on a picture of my car first though!!! just in case! [&:]

Team TANGO racing....

I feel a bit of a "sponsorship" deal coming on.....[;)][;)][;)]

I must say ,, just looked at the "chrome" link,,, That copper chrome bike looks the beez kneez.....You gotter do it that colour.....

We were at Donny 06 on Saturday,, + there was some FANTASTIC paint jobs there....One chap had spent ÂŁ7K on a Mitubishi EVO,, in candy apple red....It looked stunning...[8D][8D][8D][8D][8D],, the colour that is NOT the car....
O/all the car stood him at ,, wait for it,,, ÂŁ80K...incl the purchase price....[8|][8|][8|][8|][8|][8|]
Some people just dont know when to stop.....[8|][;)][;)]

Dave,
The guy with the 80K Evo... his name wasnt Richard Morse was it?

He was a guy I used to work with, had an EVO 6 that he was doing all sorts of nonsense to... he said his bill was currently running at 60K and that was a couple of years ago. I asked him what his lap time at the ring was and his answer was... "The where?" nuff said! you're right some people dont know when to stop....
talking of which...

I have started to make a bit of a "wish list" so if there is anything that I have missed please let me know... but remember this is going to be no "Garage Queen" so Im looking for 80% function and 20% form on most mods.

Full Fibreglass Front end
Kevlar Bonnet
Silicon Hoses ( do they do Orange??)
Strut Brace
Welded in Cage (to the turretts? - delete strutbrace)
Colour Coded Seat backs
"Solid" bushes
Pagid Orange pads ( well it'd be rude not to!![:D])
Lexan Rear Screen
Internally routed fuel and brake lines
Plumbed in Fire Extinguisher
Master Switch
*TOP SECRET Internal detailing*
IPOD Cradle ( It's a long way from Coventry to Nurburg)
Fluffy Dice
Blankety Blank Cheque Book and Pen

The new car "Clockwork Orange" (interim name) will be looking to outgun Dave's on the Dyno!

I like the idea of a rear sun visor sticker that reads "You've Been Tango'd" - Give the 911 owners something to read as I pass them through Blanchimont [;)]

Lali
Isnt Tom Segrues car orange.???

PS whats this about beating me on the dyno...[;)][;)][;)]
Its not necessaryly much more powerfull, its in the way it delivers its power....+ just keeps on revvvvviing.....
Kevin did a GOOD job.....[;)][:D][;)][:D]

Put it this way.. My car delivers its power in a better way than a 968...
Trust me ive been experimenting....[;)][;)][:D][:D]

oh + i hope youve got a good set of ear defenders IF you strip out ALL the sound deadening...I was in a track biased Capri recently with NO sound deadening...I couldnt have coped with all that noise.....

Dave,

My brother thought Toms car was Orange as well but its had a lot of coverage in Porsche post lately and in some pictures it looks faded red/orange and in others (notibly the Corbury House Display shot) it looks positivly gaurds red.

The amount of time I spend driving the car on the queens higways means that the noise isnt an issue. I came to the 944 from a Caterham Superlight without windscreen so noise isnt an issue!

I can see myself turning into the kid in the candy store with thsi car, Im already beginning to think I 'could' get it on the road for the summer!

so would go for a colour that Porsche might have used on the 944 even if they didn't. Any pre or post 944 colour is fine, but it has to be a Porsche colour.

Like this one!

Don't apologies Fen - well done for getting it sorted. [8D]

So does anyone know whether the car is still in existance?

Mik approves of ze colour (although I'd prefer the wheels anthracite). Will read it properly later...... [:)]

Forgot to say - for the benefit of others ~ hit "fullsize" at the bottom right hand corner of the fotopic pages if you actually want to read them.

It was. The articles were a 2 page spread on consecutive months throughout late 1996 and that was an impression of what they were looking to achieve in the second installment. It was much later before they actually painted it orange for real.

Hmm. We saw a great highly-modded Focus at the Ace Cafe. It looked great in it's burnt-orange colour.

Only problem was, it's not only a Lamborghini colour, but a special grade of paint. You don't want to know what the parking-dink in the door was going to cost to repair....[:(][:(][:(]

Go for something that's easily available in the future!!

Is this orange enough for you??? [:D]

I don't remember where on the web I got the picture from (I have far too many 944 pics!).

You know........I really like that colour on the 944! What's paint code number? And what did porsche call it?

What you can see of this one is more of a Lamborghini orange.

I think this pic of a potential parking disaster was taken from Ben Lovejoy's excellent Nurburgring site.
