Original.

What's going on with your headlamp washers? They look like they have been covered with some smooth caps.

Oli.

All turbo/S2 bumpers came this way Oli, and this car maybe just isn't fitted with the optional headlight washer equipment.

Interesting - I didn't know the headlight washers were optional equipment. Thanks; I learned something new today! [:)]

(I am also reassured; I thought my S2 was about as basic a model as it was possible to buy, but it has headlight washers so the original owner ticked at least one option!)

Oli.

I removed the headlight washers and fitted the blanking plates

I may re fit now I have replaced all the washer bits

scoop was just visual off a series 2 924

were the washers not standard fitment on the early turbo's...becoming optional as costs rose along with all the other cost saving parts on later cars?

Pete

I believe that they were standard on all UK cars, which were all relatively high spec. With regards to the 931 bonnet: the NACA scoop served a purpose on the 924 Turbo, but it serves no purpose at all on a 951, in fact, it may make things worse.

I like it too, in fact I may have one lurking in my garage for the same reason.
Bonnets are fairly easy to change if you don't like it going forward but I'd keep it.

I'd agree with Simon, as it probably serves little purpose on the 944, I would remove it - as I prefer functional mods.

In fact, with all the work you have been doing, making the car like new, I'd personally keep the body as close to standard as possible - although I'd keep the Cup 2's!!

It's exactly the same bonnet with scoop, that I have on my car [8D]! I absolutely LOVE IT!! You should keep it on Ken, especially if
you like it. Don't listen to anyone else mate, that's the mistake I keep making since I've been coming on here [8|]. I think it look's
uber cool [8D], especially as your car is in Black (the best and fastest colour [:D])!! Then again.....this advice comes from a 58 year
old "Boy Racer" with too many points on his license....[8|][;)][:D]!!

Another +1 for keeping it here - I think it looks good and if it doesn't cause any cooling problems then why the heck not. One of the things I have always liked about the 944 "scene" (hate that phrase must think of a better one !) is that our cars tend to be quite individualistic and not bland clones that some others tend to be....

I have a not dis-similar quandary with a vented badge panel I have sat in my garage. I think it looks great but then have read various threads about the adverse effects fitting one has on cooling....Hence it remains gathering dust. [&o]
