I tend to agree as a first step for track performance. Stiffer suspension gets you round the corners quicker & lets you take advantage of softer tyres. If you are running sticky tyres and are braking from higher speeds in a car as heavy as a 944 turbo, you'll definitely need some pretty high temp pads. Avoiding brake fade at Donington (Scott's nearest track) is to be recommended - you need something left by the time you get to Redgate
I don't think I agree with the "standard is OK" brigade though - increasing disk diameter & pad area are going to increase the braking forces. When I swapped in some Cosworth 4-pot calipers with 280mm disc to replace single pot sliding calipers with 260 mm discs onto my old Sierra track car it felt like I halved my braking distances. I had to completely re-think my braking as I was finding I reached my cornering speed about 20 yards from the bend.
we've probably got 2 separate threads going one here
1 - What's the best stuff to bring back from the US?
2. - What order should I upgrade my car for track use?
The answers might not be the same
